The Princess Consort Wants to Rebel Every Day - Chapter 4
I found Jiang Yuhe at a pleasure house after a night of drinking. She looked exactly like a wife cast aside by her husband, weeping her heart out against the ample bosom of a beautiful woman.
“My husband… How could you die so young? I hadn’t even married you yet. How could you leave me?”
The beauty must have been new. She believed every word and patted Jiang Yuhe’s back, visibly moved.
“Miss Jiang, please stop crying. You’re breaking my heart.
“How can anyone be so unfortunate? Sweethearts for more than ten years, and you waited faithfully in the capital for your betrothed, only for him to die on the battlefield and never come home. What a tragic pair of lovers…”
Jiang Yuhe gave the woman’s breasts a hearty squeeze and let out another howl. “My husband!”
“Enough.”
I tugged Jiang Yuhe’s hair. Without turning around, she went on fondling the woman.
My patience wore thin, and I kicked her. The beauty leapt up indignantly.
“Who are you? Have you no compassion? Can’t you see her fiancé just died and she’s grieving?”
Wiping her own tears, the woman gently patted a bewildered Jiang Yuhe, who had finally turned to look at me. “Never mind her. You go on crying.”
I snorted, dragged over a chair, and sat down with a flourish. “As it happens, I’m the woman her recently departed fiancé married yesterday.”
The beauty frowned, unable to make sense of that. Jiang Yuhe caught on first. She wiped her tears and waved the woman away.
“You needn’t keep me company. Go rest. I’ll ask for you again tonight.”
The woman left in a daze. I doubted she’d worked out who I was.
“How was last night?” Jiang Yuhe leaned in, her eyes dropping between my legs with a suggestive look.
“A fate worse than death,” I said through clenched teeth.
She shook her head. “The Regent doesn’t know what he’s doing. All brute force and no skill. Of course you couldn’t enjoy it.” Then she asked, “Would you like to? Your sister has plenty of experience. I could teach you.”
I held up a palm in front of her face. “No need. Beauty leads people astray. I’d rather not learn.”
Jiang Yuhe poured me a cup of tea. “Your throat’s hoarse from all that screaming. Have a drink.”
“The young emperor’s birthday is in ten days. The Marquis of Longnan is coming to the capital with his son to celebrate. I intend to have Zhou Ting’an take his stronghold while he’s away!”
Clatter.
The cup Jiang Yuhe had just raised to her lips fell to the floor. She grabbed my hand in horror.
“Don’t! We’re alive and well. Why are you so determined to get yourself killed?”
I gave her a reassuring look. “Don’t worry. Nothing will happen. If it does, it’ll be Zhou Ting’an who gets executed. It has nothing to do with us.”
I thought back to the second half of last night, when I had swallowed a lifetime’s pride and begged him, saying I truly couldn’t take any more. What had that bastard said?
“Jiang Qingye, we’ve barely begun. Take your time and enjoy it.”
The bastard had done it on purpose. All night long, he’d worn me down until I felt as though eight horses had trampled back and forth over my body.
At dawn he’d even had the nerve to ask if it had been exciting.
Ha. Exciting?
He had plenty of excitement ahead of him.
I smiled, leaned close to Jiang Yuhe’s ear, and whispered my plan.
“Will that work?” I asked.
Jiang Yuhe rubbed her rounded breasts, the tips of her ears turning red. She hid a sly smile behind her hand.
“Of course. Men love showing off what they can do!”
