The Perfect Plot of My Brother - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
The two months of summer vacation flew by.
I started middle school, while my brother exceeded all expectations on his high school entrance exams and got into a top-tier key high school.
But I wasn’t happy. Instead, alarm bells started ringing in my head.
In the original plot, high school was the turning point in Meng Yunchuan’s life.
During this stage, he would meet the villain, Zhou Hegui. He would target Zhou Hegui relentlessly, eventually getting expelled for physical assault, after which his life would spiral out of control.
But the problem was that high school was a boarding school, and I couldn’t keep an eye on him at all times!
So, I resorted to messaging him every few days to test the waters.
I messaged him: [Brother, are there any handsome guys in your class?]
Well, considering the tropes, Zhou Hegui was likely good-looking.
My brother replied quickly: [Yeah.]
He really had met him!
My heart tightened, but I played it cool: [How’s your relationship with him? A classmate told me her brother has tons of handsome friends!]
I just asked casually, but my brother’s status changed from “typing…” to nothing.
Then it went back to “typing…” then disappeared, then “typing…” again. This back-and-forth went on for about five minutes.
Finally, a message came through.
Meng Yunchuan: [We’re on great terms!]
After that message, it was as if my brother had broken through some kind of restraint.
The messages started flooding in.
[I eat with him all the time.]
[Hold on, I’ll send you a photo.]
[Don’t worry, I’ve got plenty of handsome guys around me. I’ll introduce you next time.]
[…]
I stared at the photo he sent of a boy’s back. The image quality was a bit blurry; I couldn’t help but feel like it was a candid shot taken in secret.
Great. Now I was even more worried.
This anxiety lasted until winter break arrived.
My brother was always the type to share good news but hide the bad. After that day I questioned him, he didn’t even come home for several weekends.
At one point, I suspected he’d been beaten up and was too afraid to show his face.
But when I called him, his tone sounded normal enough. I didn’t know whether to feel relieved or even more concerned.
Just as I was fretting, I heard a commotion at the door. “Come on in, this is my place!”
It was my brother’s voice.
Immediately after, there was a knock, and my brother shouted from outside, “Sis!”
I scrambled to open the door. Before I could even get the word “Brother” out, I saw a strikingly handsome boy standing behind him.
Since starting high school, my brother’s height had shot up to 1.8 meters. This boy was just as tall, though he looked a bit leaner.
Seeing me staring blankly at the stranger, my brother’s expression stiffened for a second. Then, he bared his teeth in a grin and said, “This is Zhou Hegui, my friend. He’s staying with us for a while.”
What?
Zhou Hegui?
Zhou Hegui!
My eyes nearly bugged out of my head.
Wait a minute.
If I remembered correctly, wasn’t that the villain’s name?!
Seeing my “I’ve seen a ghost” expression, my brother tilted his head, looking confused. He threw an arm around Zhou Hegui’s shoulder and bragged, “This is my sister, Meng Yuexi. Pretty, isn’t she?”
Zhou Hegui gave me a polite once-over. Seeing my brother’s “if you don’t agree, I’ll bash your head in” look, he paused for a moment before nodding. “Yeah. She’s pretty.”
“Right?!”
Me: “…”
Oh my god.
What on earth is going on?!
Brother, you’re just a cannon fodder! How do you have the guts to bring the villain home?
Do you have a death wish?!
