Chapter 15
I am conflicted.
I want Lu Tong to love me in front of others.
Yet, I don’t want Lu Tong to feel bound by her love for me.
Even more, I don’t want Lu Tong to keep mentioning “open marriage,” making me feel like she doesn’t love me.
So when I heard Lu Tong respond like that, I frowned and reprimanded, “Don’t say that.”
My friend hurriedly hung up the phone.
So he didn’t hear my last sentence.
An open marriage must be a secret between two people, not something to be shared with everyone.
Just like earlier.
So this birthday party was destined to end in discord.
Driving home.
Lu Tong suddenly turned to me and asked, “Zhou Heran, wasn’t it you who mentioned open marriage? How am I speaking out of turn?”
Her eyes held emotions I couldn’t decipher.
I interpreted them as jealousy and sadness.
During this period.
I have indeed neglected her.
Our encounters mostly happen at the doorway of our home.
I enter, she leaves.
I leave, she enters.
I swallowed, moistening my throat.
“But you can’t say it in front of so many people. They’ll think there’s something wrong between us.”
Unlike the situation at the bar that day.
Different occasions call for different actions.
But Lu Tong didn’t understand.
She stared at me, her gaze making me feel uneasy.
After a while, she finally spoke.
“Alright, I understand.”
