Chapter 2
You can’t believe a single word a man says.
Fu Tingshen told others he wasn’t interested in women, yet he came to my place four or five times a week.
By the same logic, his claim of not being interested in other women was also a lie.
After all, just as he hadn’t met me before, he hadn’t yet met his destined female lead.
As a pragmatist, I decided it was best to plan for my own future.
When I had sold off half of the designer bags Fu Tingshen had given me, he finally found out.
That day, I had just packed up a limited-edition crocodile skin bag, ready to ship it out. But instead of the courier, his low-key black Maybach arrived.
The package was never sent.
He sat on the black leather sofa, raising an eyebrow at the bag on the coffee table.
“What’s this all about?”
I stood by the table, glancing from the bag to him.
The cells in my brain worked at lightning speed.
Finally, I said softly, “I was planning to sell it.”
“You don’t like it?”
I quickly shook my head.
What woman wouldn’t like a limited-edition, genuine crocodile skin bag worth over a million?
I blinked, and my eyes quickly welled up, my voice turning thin. “A few days ago, I went to see the director of the orphanage. She said a new group of children arrived this year…”
That part was true.
“I don’t have a job… so I thought I could sell this and donate the money to the orphanage.”
That part was a lie.
Fu Tingshen leaned forward, his fingers interlaced on his knees.
His gaze felt like it could see right through me.
I committed even harder to the act, a couple of tears rolling down my cheeks as I blinked. “You… don’t be angry…”
Fu Tingshen hated seeing me cry more than anything.
The moment I cried, he would immediately become impatient.
Sure enough, before my tears could escalate, he stood up from the sofa.
“I’ll have someone handle the orphanage matter tomorrow.” He reached up to loosen his tie and walked over to me. “The things I give you, you are not to sell.”
I sniffled and nodded obediently.
Damn it.
How am I supposed to make money then?
“From now on, I will transfer two million into your account every month.”
I looked up at him in disbelief.
He frowned slightly. “Not enough?”
I shook my head vigorously.
Daddy.
You are my real daddy.
