Chapter 5
The owner was stunned.
She picked up a cloth to wipe her hands, looking at me with a confused expression, “What?”
I finally couldn’t hold back and laughed so hard I bent over.
I knew the owner had WeChat, and every time, I would transfer money directly.
Including the head teacher, I also took care of Qin Yu’s leave of absence.
But he was so naive, he believed whatever I said.
Qin Yu seemed a bit upset, his lips moved slightly, but he said nothing and turned to walk back.
I chased after him, chattering endlessly, “Oh, I was wrong, I just wanted you to say a few more words!”
“Qin Yu, your voice is really nice, you should talk more.”
“Qin Yu, repeat after me: Zhou Ruo is really pretty, I like Zhou Ruo.”
Qin Yu’s ears turned even redder, and he suddenly stopped.
Caught off guard, I bumped into his back.
He turned his head, looked at me for two seconds, and softly said, “Shameless.”
I burst into laughter.
“Qin Yu, you really have a nice voice.”
He clearly wanted to scold me like Yang Chen, calling me shameless, but he said it so elegantly.
Even though he said that, I still laughed heartily. He probably had never seen a girl with such thick skin in his life.
Qin Yu simply ignored me, huffing as he continued walking forward.
In the evening, the campus belle transferred 10,000 yuan to me.
“Ah Yu spoke at home today! He asked, ‘Why do Dad’s shoes smell so bad?'”
“Master, you are the lucky star of our family!”
I laughed, collapsing onto the bed, imagining Qin Yu’s frowning face, adorably excessive.
I took out my phone to message Qin Yu.
But the phone rang at that moment, and I impatiently hung up–Yang Chen again.
After blocking his calls and WeChat, he started using his mother’s phone to call me.
I knew Yang Chen’s family lived across the hall, and Yang’s mother was nice to me. She knew my mom well.
No matter how rebellious I was, I couldn’t block an elder.
I rubbed my head in frustration and tossed the phone aside.
What on earth was wrong with Yang Chen?
From childhood to now, I chased after him, and he never called me once; it was always me bothering him.
I scrolled through the chat history with Yang Chen.
It was almost entirely one-sided, with him replying “Hmm” or “Oh” after hundreds of messages.
Just as I returned to the chat, I noticed a message from Qin Yu.
I thought he would be as cold as when we met, but ever since we added each other on WeChat, Qin Yu replied to every message I sent.
Even though it was just a simple word or two, I felt an unprecedented emotional connection.
He even used my memes to reply to me.
Later, when I sent him mischievous memes, he stopped using them.
Maybe the autistic puppy Qin Yu just didn’t like talking, but he was quite enthusiastic online.
…
“Good morning, Qin Yu!”
I greeted him with a smile.
The cool boy said nothing, just glanced at me.
I found it strange; wasn’t he a bit too quiet today?
The next second, I saw breakfast on my desk, “Did you bring this for me?”
I asked excitedly.
Qin Yu nodded, then shook his head, “My sister.”
He still spoke so little, but I understood.
“Then thank your sister for me! These soup dumplings are hard to get.”
I ate with oil dripping from my mouth, and Qin Yu handed me a napkin.
Yang Chen walked over, glaring at me irritably, “How long are you going to keep this up? Not answering calls, not replying to messages.”
“Living so close, yet you’re like a rabbit, can’t even see you.”
I put away the soup dumplings on the table, “Since you know I’m avoiding you, why don’t you just stay away from me?”
Yang Chen was so angry his chest heaved, “You don’t seriously think a rich young master like him would be interested in you, do you?”
I paused my chewing, and Qin Yu stopped handing me napkins.
He looked at Yang Chen calmly, while I slammed the table and stood up.
“Yang Chen! We’re all students, your thoughts are really filthy!”
“All you think about is romance, is this how a student should be? As classmates, not only do you not help others, but you also try to sow discord!”
Yang Chen opened his mouth, but I immediately blocked his words.
“Or is it because you’re in a relationship, that you’re filled with such thoughts?”
Yang Chen was furious, “Zhou Ruo! I said this because I consider you a good friend! A young master like Qin Yu, what kind of woman can’t he have–”
Before he finished, the head teacher’s cold voice sounded behind him.
“Yang Chen, come to the office!”
I almost died laughing.
But when I turned around, I found Qin Yu staring at me, his eyes deep.
Before I could speak, he pursed his lips and turned his head away.
I rubbed my forehead.
Great, he’s angry again.
“You really don’t need help, I was wrong, it’s me–I need your help! Can I borrow your homework to copy?”
Qin Yu ignored me, so I tugged at his sleeve, shaking it.
“The abstract video you shared with me yesterday, I can’t find it, can you send it to me again?”
He still ignored me.
I sighed, resignedly lying on the desk.
Within minutes, my phone vibrated, and I pulled it out from the desk hole. It was Qin Yu’s transfer.
[Keep helping me, I have money. Don’t talk to him, I hate him.]
Such a straightforward puppy, using money power, who wouldn’t be moved?
I clutched my heart and accepted the money without hesitation.
The campus belle said she wanted to treat me to a meal, saying her parents wanted to thank me in person.
Qin Yu had been speaking more at home recently, even if just brief words, but it gave them hope.
I waved my hand, “These are just small matters.”
