For the three days before the grand opening, I was busy until very late.
I barely looked at my phone.
It was only while sorting through messages that I noticed the blessing Leo had sent before.
After pressing delete, I set up a time to finalize the divorce papers.
A long while later, he replied with a message.
[Do we need to talk again?]
[Let’s talk after the papers are signed.]
After a moment, Leo replied with a single word: “Okay.”
I continued: [10 a.m.]
[Alright.]
The night outside the window remained the same, as if nothing had changed.
But the decorations inside the house were completely renewed.
It was anticipation.
It was also a new beginning.
I put all the photos Jane had given me into a file folder.
Two days left until the divorce.
