Chapter 9
Leo’s call came quickly, and I could hear the suppressed displeasure in his voice.
He asked me why I resorted to violence.
Even if Jane was in the wrong, I could have just kicked her out.
Now things have escalated.
If Jane doesn’t want to settle privately, calling the police would complicate matters.
I laughed.
“Then let her report it. She trespassed first and has a questionable moral character.
“As a mistress, didn’t she consider the possibility of being hit when she came to provoke?
“She even made remarks to provoke my son, implying you wouldn’t have time for him.
“Leo, my son is my bottom line, and I hope he’s yours too.”
After saying this, I hung up without waiting for Leo’s reply.
I sent him a message, declining the trip to his hometown.
I felt a weight lift off my shoulders.
My private studio called, saying Jane had just phoned her husband, planning to take some money and divorce him.
They arranged to handle the paperwork next week.
She’s robbing Peter to pay Paul, and eventually, she’ll run out of walls to tear down.
It seems she’s pushing Leo to get a marriage certificate.
The head of the private studio sighed with me.
“This Jane is quite something. You’d think she couldn’t hold her nerve, yet she lingered around Leo for two years.
“But now, at this critical juncture, she insists on causing trouble.”
He continued his analysis.
“Maybe she never felt a sense of crisis before. Being in a secret relationship was thrilling. Now, at the crucial moment to rise, there are too many people around Leo who are better than her.
“She’s just worried about being replaced, so she’s making a high-profile appearance.”
I took a sip of coffee. “Perhaps.”
From that day on, Jane’s alternate account stopped sending messages.
Emily came to the café for coffee and told me.
Jane, posing as a secretary, accompanied Leo to his father’s birthday celebration.
She has been much more low-key since returning.
It seems Leo finally gave her a promise.
Emily asked me what I thought.
“That’s fine.”
Emily exclaimed, “Ms. Sophia, do you really think so? The mistress is taking over!”
I nodded.
The scumbag has found his own retribution among the masses.
Isn’t that just fine?
The café also completed its product and decor adjustments today.
We officially opened, and I posted a moment to commemorate it.
Also, I circled on the calendar-five days until the divorce countdown.
