chapter 4
In less than half an hour, Qi Sinian rushed back at top speed.
He was panting, but he didn’t spare me a single glance, charging straight for the secret room.
The moment the door to the secret room swung open, the woman lunged toward Qi Sinian, weeping.
Qi Sinian decisively stepped to the side, letting her collapse onto the floor.
“President Qi, she-”
“Shut up!” Qi Sinian’s gaze was vicious, his words forced through gritted teeth. “Swallow everything that happened today. If you dare say a single word, I won’t let you off.”
The woman stared at him in disbelief.
“President Qi, what are you saying? She locked me up for no reason! I don’t care, I’m calling the police. I’m going to have her arrested…”
She tried to rush out like a madwoman, but a grim-faced Qi Sinian held her back.
I clicked my tongue and leaned against the wall with my arms crossed.
“Maybe we should just kill her. I’ll do the deed, and you can dig the hole. We’ll bury her in the backyard; that tree is lacking nutrients and hasn’t been growing much.”
I spoke nonchalantly, as if it were the most ordinary thing in the world.
Qi Sinian remained silent.
Finally, the woman realized something. She began to tremble, whimpers escaping her throat, the terror in her eyes impossible to hide.
Qi Sinian took a deep breath, his gaze cold.
“I’ll give you a sum of money to leave. You should know that even if you want to call the police, you have no evidence of what happened today.”
Qi Sinian escorted the woman out.
The woman, who had arrived as flamboyant as a peacock, left with faltering steps.
With a smile on my face, I sat back down and continued my flower arrangement.
