SOLD to My Ex: A Forbidden Service Contract - Chapter 3
I didn’t go to the club, and I certainly didn’t go to Zhou Yan’s house.
Zhou Yan left me two missed calls and a voice message, which I didn’t even listen to.
I know my own charm. He was definitely trying to sweet-talk me into going to his place.
He didn’t cherish me three years ago; now, he couldn’t catch me even if he grew two more legs.
At nine o’clock, I was in the back kitchen of a food stall, wearing an apron and disposable gloves, standing in front of a sink, surrounded by hot water and grease.
The lady boss was chopping chicken legs nearby, not forgetting to remind me, “Little Song, you’re so quick! But be careful, there are a lot of bowls in the kitchen, don’t break another one.”
“You got it! You can count on me.”
The lady boss looked worried. “Ay (a sigh of exasperation), I’m actually a little worried…”
Just as I raised my hand to wipe the sweat from my brow, there was a loud “bang” from the doorway, as if someone had kicked the door.
I looked up and saw Zhou Yan in a black trench coat, looking like he’d walked onto the wrong movie set.
He was dressed like he was going to a funeral today, all-black suit, the trench coat belt swinging, and his face was darker than the bottom of a wok.
The greasy smoke hit him right in the face, but he didn’t even blink, his eyes fixed on me.
My heart skipped a beat. Crap, the mad dog had tracked me down.
They say chasing a wife is a crematorium, is he dressed like this to send me there directly?
“What are you doing here?” he gritted out, his voice low, like he was suppressing a fire.
I took off my mask and replied calmly, “Working. Paying off my debts.”
“What do you mean? You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”
“I mean, I don’t want to go to your place,” I said, scrubbing a bowl. “Your place is too clean, I’m afraid I’ll dirty it.”
He didn’t say anything, but his eyes were like knives, scraping over my body. He slowly approached, pulled out a wad of cash, and slammed it on the counter by the sink.
“Stop this. Come back with me, I’ll give you however much money you want.”
I looked at the cash and raised an eyebrow slightly. “Are you serious?”
“How much will it take for you to come home with me?”
The lady boss was so scared she trembled. “Oh my, young man, are people this direct when they’re looking for a partner these days?”
You know, I actually like it when people throw money at me for no reason. And the key is, this person isn’t bald, and he’s not bad-looking either.
“Song Yu,” he said through clenched teeth. “I don’t want to see you washing these dirty dishes.”
I looked at him, then suddenly smiled, took off my gloves, and picked up the money, patting it. “Alright, I’ll do it.”
He was taken aback, not expecting me to agree so quickly.
I pocketed the money, ripped off my apron, and then turned to shout into the kitchen, “Lady boss, is the food ready?”
“It’s ready, it’s ready, thanks for your hard work, Little Song… This delivery is a bit far!”
I took the take-out bag, then looked back at him with a clean, sharp smile.
“Don’t worry, I’m not washing dishes anymore.” I held up the take-out bag. “I’m delivering food.”
Zhou Yan stood there, his face looking like he’d just swallowed ten pounds of coal.
“What did you say?”
“I was just helping the lady boss with a few dishes, the kitchen was too busy, and I’m fast,” I said, walking towards the door. “Did you think I was just a dishwasher?”
I turned back and waved the take-out bag at him. “Bro, I took the money and promised I wouldn’t wash dishes, but my main job is delivering food.”
He looked at me with a shocked expression. “They say pretty boys have bad intentions, especially the cunning bottoms?”
