After leaving the Di Family residence, Nan Zhiyi headed straight home.

Since it wasn’t quite time for the workday to end, Old Master Nan and Old Madam Nan were somewhat surprised to see their granddaughter return.

“Why are you back so early today? Did something happen?”

Nan Zhiyi shook her head and explained to the elderly couple with a smile, “Nothing happened. I just finished my work early today, so I got off early to come back and have tea and play chess with you both.”

Nan Zhiyi didn’t want to mention the trouble at the Di Corporation or the scene Song Liqin had caused. She didn’t want the two elders to worry about her.

Upon hearing this, the Old Master and Old Madam looked quite pleased. “Well, that’s wonderful then…”

The two elders were more than happy to have her home and immediately pulled their granddaughter aside to chat.

A bit later, Lin Zhizhi called.

Nan Zhiyi stepped to the side to take the call.

On the other end of the line, Lin Zhizhi asked with concern, “Zhiyi, are you okay?”

Nan Zhiyi smiled. “I’m fine, nothing’s wrong… Why? Is there something you need?”

“True.”

Lin Zhizhi was easily appeased. She continued to gush for a few more moments before her tone shifted. “Let’s get down to business. I called mainly to give you an update on the Di Corporation’s investigation. The person who sold the formula has been caught. It was that Chen Jing. The President has already fired him.”

Nan Zhiyi wasn’t particularly surprised to hear that name.

Earlier, when Chen Jing had been relentlessly accusing and trying to frame her in front of Di Shijing, she had sensed that something was wrong with him.

Her reaction was mild as she simply replied, “I see. Thanks for letting me know.”

“Don’t mention it, it’s the least I could do.”

Lin Zhizhi dismissed the thanks, then asked cautiously, “So… will you be coming back?”

She asked this purely out of concern as a friend.

After everything that had happened, it would be perfectly understandable if Nan Zhiyi chose not to return to the Di Corporation. If it were her, she probably wouldn’t let the matter go so easily either.

Yet, she couldn’t help but hope she could still work with Aletta…

After all, this was a titan of the perfumery world! There was so much she could learn from her.

Because of this, she instinctively added, “Regarding what happened today, the President has already ordered a news blackout. No one in our lab has breathed a word of it to the outside…”

Sensing her intentions, Nan Zhiyi pondered for a moment before finally sighing. “I’ll be back, but it’ll be in a few days.”

Lin Zhizhi was delighted by the answer. She didn’t ask why and simply replied, “Then I’ll wait for you to come back!”

The two chatted for a while longer before hanging up.

Over the next two days, Nan Zhiyi really didn’t go to the Di Corporation.

However, it wasn’t because of Song Liqin.

It was mainly because the formula she was developing for the Di Corporation needed to be finished within these two days. Since it was an entry for a competition, she couldn’t afford to be careless with it.

The atmosphere in the company had been heavy for the past few days, especially in the President’s Office on the top floor.

The secretaries working under Di Shijing were particularly on edge, terrified of making a mistake and accidentally provoking the President, which might lead to them being fired on the spot.

Zhou Yi was also working with his nerves frayed to the breaking point.

“Has Nan Zhiyi still not come to the office?”

Di Shijing had asked this question no less than ten times over the last two days.

Di Shijing’s brow furrowed, his expression souring. He pulled out his phone, preparing to call Nan Zhiyi himself.

Master’s expression was just too terrifying. He looked exactly like a man whose wife had run away!
Being an assistant really wasn’t easy.

He was busy enough with work, acting as a driver, and looking after the President on a daily basis, but now he even had to provide relationship counseling.

After patting himself on the back for a while, he continued his persuasion aloud. “Master, don’t be anxious. I’ve looked into it. Miss Zhiyi didn’t come because the perfume they’re developing for us is nearing completion, and she simply can’t get away… Besides, you should give Miss Zhiyi a little time. Furthermore, he needed to go home and speak with the children.

In the past, when he was away, his parents would usually come over to help look after them. However, after the recent incident, Di Shijing no longer felt comfortable letting Song Liqin come over.

After a moment’s thought, he decided to entrust the two little ones to their Great-Grandfather.

That evening, at Dijinglan Mansion.

Di Shijing accompanied the two little ones for dinner and took the opportunity to explain the situation. “Daddy has to go on a business trip tomorrow. By the time you wake up, someone from the Old Mansion will be here to pick you up. You’ll be staying with Great-Grandfather for the next few days.”

However, their little minds were working faster than ever. If Daddy was gone, didn’t that mean they could go find Mommy to play? This was the perfect opportunity!

Mumu was delighted. She took out her little notebook and wrote a few lines to coax her father: “Daddy, you’re going on a trip tomorrow, so you have to go to bed early tonight. “Alright, Daddy will get some rest early.”

Mumu pursed her lips and smiled. Of course she was-she was the best baby in the world!

The following morning.

Di Shijing and Zhou Yi headed straight for the airport early in the day.

As soon as he was gone, Mumu made a phone call to Nan Zhiyi.

“Mommy, good morning! Daddy is away on business. Can we make a date to go out and play this weekend? We’ll bring Brother Hengheng and Sister Wanwan.”

Nan Zhiyi’s mood instantly brightened upon hearing her daughter’s milky voice. She had no objections.

“I’d love to, but we have to find a way to get you out…” She paused, then asked, “Who are you staying with while your father is away?”

“With Great-Grandfather,” Mumu replied quickly, before adding with a mysterious giggle, “Don’t worry, Mommy, we’ve already thought of a way to come see you!”

“Oh? Really? And what are you going to do?” Nan Zhiyi asked curiously.

“It’s a secret for now! You’ll find out when the time comes, hehe…”

The two little ones giggled like little rascals, clearly having already devised a plan.

Nan Zhiyi couldn’t help but laugh. Keeping secrets from her? Fine, then. She would just have to wait and see what kind of tricks these two little ones were up to.

“Then Mommy will look forward to it!”

After chatting with the two little ones for a bit longer, Nan Zhiyi hung up the phone.
