Six Years Later: Wrecking His World with Quadruplets - Chapter 205
Chapter 205
Thinking of this, Old Master Di smiled and said, “That’s what’s so good about you, Girl. You always consider those around you and don’t care about personal gain! Whoever ends up marrying you in the future will be a lucky man!”
He teased Nan Zhiyi, then glanced at Di Shijing, drawing out his words as he said leisurely, “Unfortunately, our family doesn’t have that kind of luck!”
At this point, he changed the subject and spoke to Nan Zhiyi with great enthusiasm. “But Girl, have you considered what I told you last time about introducing you to someone?”
“During this time, I’ve scouted many young gentlemen for you and even specially compiled a photo album! Since you’re here, take a look. If anyone catches your eye, tell Grandpa, and I’ll help you arrange a match!”
Di Shijing’s face darkened instantly upon hearing this.
However, Old Master Di acted as if he hadn’t noticed and instructed the butler, “Old Li, go and get the album.”
The old butler glanced at his young master and nodded with a smile. “Yes, sir.”
He quickly returned with the photo album.
Once it was in his hands, Old Master Di flipped it open and held it in front of Nan Zhiyi, looking impatient. “Take a look, quickly. I think the first few are quite good.”
He pointed at the first photo and said, “This one is the son of the Han Group’s chairman. He’s handsome and capable. He graduated from a prestigious university abroad two years ago. He’s a good match for you, Girl.”
“And this one is also not bad… He comes from a family of scholars, and his personality is famous in our circles for being gentle and refined. His temper is a hundred times better than this brat of mine! If you still don’t like him, there’s also this one…”
The Old Master prattled on, introducing a long list of candidates.
Nan Zhiyi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
She hadn’t expected Grandpa Di to actually compile a whole book of eligible bachelors from their social circle!
Moreover, the Old Master was so enthusiastic that even though she had no such intentions, she was forced to look through several of them.
Standing to the side, Zhou Yi felt the temperature in the room suddenly drop.
He instinctively glanced at his Master.
He saw a low-pressure aura swirling around Di Shijing, whose gaze was cold enough to turn to ice.
It was quite terrifying!
Nan Zhiyi felt it too. She instinctively glanced at him and, feeling the chill, couldn’t help but rub her arms.
Di Shijing’s expression was as foul as could be.
He gritted his teeth and listened for a long time. Seeing his own grandfather still prattling on, he finally couldn’t take it anymore and snatched the album away.
Old Master Di frowned in dissatisfaction, but he was secretly laughing inside.
You brat, you’ve finally taken the bait, haven’t you?
He pretended to be displeased and asked, “What are you doing?”
Di Shijing met his gaze coldly, his expression suggesting he was speaking through gritted teeth.
Yet, he remained stubborn. “I’m just seeing if they’re as excellent as you claim!”
He flipped the album open and scanned it with a cold eye, not forgetting to offer sharp critiques. “Handsome? This look is just average at best.”
He flipped another page. “This face is too stiff. He’s had plastic surgery, hasn’t he?”
“This one’s aura is too weak. One look and you can tell he overindulges in his nightlife; he has ‘kidney deficiency’ written all over his face.”
“And this one… I saw him at a club a few days ago with a girl on each arm and another sitting on his lap…”
In a short while, Di Shijing had picked apart the entire book.
Not a single man in the album met his standards.
Nan Zhiyi watched him, looking dazed.
What was wrong… with this man?
This behavior didn’t seem like him at all.
And was it her imagination, or could she actually smell the scent of vinegar in the air?
Was Di Shijing jealous because of her?
That was impossible…
Nan Zhiyi dismissed the thought immediately.
Old Master Di also took in his grandson’s actions.
He glared at him with feigned annoyance. “What are you acting so disgusted for? I’m picking a partner for the Girl. What does that have to do with you? Is it your place to be picky? Give it back to me!”
With those words, he reached out to snatch the photo album.
Di Shijing dodged him, his tone cold. “Matchmaking requires talent. You’re getting old and your eyesight is failing; your taste is terrible. You’re really not cut out for this. If you’re bored, go practice some Tai Chi.”
Having said his piece, he deftly tossed the album over to Zhou Yi and ordered, “Throw this thing away.”
Zhou Yi suppressed a laugh and nodded. “Yes, Master!”
He then hugged the album tightly, planning to destroy it as soon as he stepped out the door.
Old Master Di nearly died of anger watching Di Shijing’s performance!
This blockhead-couldn’t he just admit he was jealous?
What was the point of throwing away the album? Was it going to help?
Old Master Di was beyond exasperated with his grandson. He waved his cane to shoo him away. “If you throw it away, can’t I just make another one? It’s just a photo album; I can find as many candidates as I want! Hurry up and get back to work. Stop causing trouble here.”
Di Shijing actually stood up. “You’re right. I do have a lot of work. I’ll be going now.”
As he spoke, he didn’t forget to pull Nan Zhiyi up with him.
Nan Zhiyi looked completely dazed.
“What are you doing?”
Di Shijing glanced at her and said, “I’m giving you a ride back since it’s on the way. Why? Do you want to stay here and keep looking at those bottom-of-the-barrel losers?”
Nan Zhiyi wanted to say that she didn’t, but also, what did that have to do with him?
However, Di Shijing didn’t give her a chance to speak, dragging her along as he walked away.
Seeing this, Old Master Di thought to himself: This grandson of mine might be salvageable after all. It looks like my efforts weren’t in vain.
Out loud, however, he remained relentless. “You brat, who are you calling losers? You might not be a loser, but you don’t appreciate what’s in front of you either! Why are you snatching my person away…”
Di Shijing didn’t look back.
The Old Master shouted after them, “You rascal! Since you’re taking her away, make sure you compensate the Girl properly for the grievance she suffered this time. Do you hear me?”
Di Shijing ignored him entirely and was soon out the door.
Even when they reached the underground garage, he showed no intention of letting go of Nan Zhiyi.
Seeing this, Nan Zhiyi struggled with her wrist and said, “Can you let go of me now?”
Di Shijing glanced at her and calmly released his grip.
Nan Zhiyi rubbed her wrist, choosing not to mention his unusual behavior just now.
She didn’t want to touch upon that unknown territory, and she was afraid of guessing wrong.
So, after a moment of silence, she spoke up. “I… I drove my own car. I can head back by myself.”
Seeing her hesitate and avoid the previous topic, Di Shijing knit his brows. He wanted to say something.
But as the words reached his lips, he realized he couldn’t quite explain his own actions either.
Thus, he followed her lead and said, “Fine. Regarding the Ling Group, you don’t need to worry. I’ll handle it. They won’t dare move against you or your company.”
Nan Zhiyi nodded, having no objections.
She had already helped retrieve ‘Glacier Eternal’ on her end; it was fine to let Di Shijing handle the rest.
“Alright! However, there’s something I want to discuss with you. Moving forward, I will be optimizing the rest of the Di Corporation formulas at the ZELING laboratory. That shouldn’t be a problem, right?”
The implication was that she didn’t plan on going to the Di Corporation anymore!
Even though Song Liqin had apologized-however reluctantly-she still wanted to avoid trouble as much as possible.
However, Di Shijing did not agree.
Without a second thought, he said, “I’m afraid that won’t work. We signed a contract previously; the formula optimization must be completed in the Di Corporation research labs.”
Nan Zhiyi argued, “I will complete the tasks in the agreement on time…”
“This matter is not up for negotiation!”
Di Shijing interrupted her. “If you don’t show up, I’ll personally go to your house to pick you up!”
His tone left no room for argument.
Nan Zhiyi was left speechless, thinking to herself: How can this man be so overbearing!
He wouldn’t compromise even an inch!
