Six Years Later: Wrecking His World with Quadruplets - Chapter 175
Chapter 175
Seeing the expression on her face, Di Shijing’s lips curled up in an almost imperceptible smile. He asked deliberately, “What’s wrong?”
He was doing it on purpose!
Did he think she hadn’t seen him secretly smiling?
Nan Zhiyi felt a sudden, inexplicable surge of frustration. Gritting her teeth, she replied, “Nothing!”
Di Shijing nodded, acting as if he hadn’t noticed her irritation at all. “Water,” he said.
He made no move to reach out and take the glass. Instead, he looked at Nan Zhiyi with a gaze that clearly signaled for her to feed it to him.
Nan Zhiyi was utterly speechless. She could only assume he was so drunk that he had lost all sense of shame.
Forcing herself to keep her temper in check, she brought the glass to his lips and helped him drink.
After finishing, Di Shijing lightly licked the moisture from his lips, looking quite pleased. “This medicine… it’s quite sweet.”
Nan Zhiyi froze at the nonsensical comment.
If she remembered correctly, the medicine was supposed to be bitter, wasn’t it?
It seemed this man really was heavily intoxicated; he was starting to talk nonsense.
“Just get some rest.”
Nan Zhiyi dropped the sentence coldly. Not wanting to deal with him any longer, she turned and walked away.
On the other side of the room, though Old Master Di was playing chess, he had been keeping a close eye on the situation. Seeing Nan Zhiyi walk away, he let out a snort. “Pathetic.”
Di Shijing heard him but didn’t argue. Instead, his thin lips curved into a faint, barely visible smile.
Later that afternoon, the Old Madam’s energy began to flag. Feeling sleepy, she went for a nap. Old Master Di also finished his game with Old Master Nan and stood up to head home.
Di Shijing left with him.
As soon as they got into the car, Di Shijing leaned back against the seat to rest with his eyes closed, only to be met with his grandfather’s ridicule.
“Stop acting. The Girl can’t see you pretending to be drunk now.”
Di Shijing slowly opened his eyes. His gaze was perfectly calm; those eyes, deep as a cold pool, didn’t show the slightest hint of intoxication.
Old Master Di, having confirmed his suspicions, looked at his grandson with a touch of disdain. “Pretending to be drunk just to trick someone into feeding you medicine-you’re quite the expert, aren’t you? If you’d been this clever sooner, your wife wouldn’t have run away!”
“I was indeed drunk just now,” Di Shijing said, his face remaining perfectly composed.
Seeing that he was still being stubborn, Old Master Di huffed. “Fine, you were drunk. When I get back, I’ll have people scout all the talented young men in the capital. I’ll put together a photo album and let the Girl take her pick!”
Di Shijing’s eyes narrowed slightly at that. He glanced at his grandfather but said nothing more.
Twenty minutes later.
After dropping Old Master Di off at the Di Family old residence, Di Shijing went straight to the office.
At three o’clock in the afternoon.
Two figures appeared at the entrance of the Di Family old residence.
It was Zhou Yi. He was leading a middle-aged man, roughly forty or fifty years old, inside.
At that moment, Old Master Di was sitting in the main hall listening to a musical. Seeing the visitors, he tilted his head slightly and asked in confusion, “Who is this?”
The man looked like a total stranger.
Zhou Yi led the man over to the Old Master and said with a smile, “It’s like this, Master felt that you need to take more care of your health, so he specifically found a fitness coach for you.”
He pointed to the middle-aged man beside him. “This is Master Yang. He is a descendant of the Tai Chi lineage. In his youth, he was a martial arts champion and a national first-class boxer. Master said that whenever you have free time, you should practice Tai Chi to get some exercise.”
Practice Tai Chi?
Staring at Master Yang’s Tai Chi uniform, Old Master Di was completely bewildered. He sat there stunned for a long time.
Finally, recalling the events of the afternoon, he couldn’t help but laugh out of pure exasperation. “So, this is his revenge for me saying I’d find the Girl a blind date?”
Zhou Yi smiled but said nothing, giving him a look that said, ‘You can figure that out for yourself.’
Old Master Di let out a disgruntled grunt and said crossly, “That Master of yours really needs to be taught a lesson! Does he think finding someone like this can stop me? How naive!”
Then, he waved his hand in a shooing motion. “Scram, scram! Go back and tell that brat that even if he finds ten more teachers like that, I’m still going to collect photo albums for the Girl! Let’s see if that doesn’t worry him to death!”
With these two sides clashing, neither was someone to be trifled with!
Zhou Yi naturally didn’t say anything more. He immediately returned to the company and relayed Old Master Di’s words to Di Shijing.
As he finished, the atmosphere in the office visibly froze, and the air turned slightly chilly.
After a moment of silence, Di Shijing took out his phone and dialed a number.
The call was answered quickly.
An elderly voice came from the other end, sounding somewhat puzzled. “How do you have the time to call me lately?”
Di Shijing spoke with a rare touch of gentleness. “Teacher, there’s something I’d like your help with.”
The person on the other end laughed, their voice filled with interest. It seemed they found Di Shijing’s request for help quite amusing. “How rare! To think the day would come when you need my help?”
The person then spoke decisively, “Fine, tell me what it is.”
Seeing that the other party agreed, Di Shijing spoke plainly. “My family’s Old Master has been a bit out of line lately. Your chess skills are unparalleled, so I’d like to invite you to sit at the old residence every day… Of course, just keep him dangling. You don’t actually have to play with him!”
Listening nearby, Zhou Yi couldn’t help but feel a bit of sympathy for the Old Master.
As a hardcore chess enthusiast, the Old Master was truly being played like a fiddle…
Luyuan.
Only after Di Shijing and the others left did the tightly closed door upstairs finally open.
Hengheng and Wanwan tiptoed out, peeking over the top of the stairs to look down.
Nan Zhiyi felt like laughing as she watched them. With the corners of her mouth curved upward, she said, “You can come down now. They’re gone.”
The two little ones nodded and scurried down like a flash, as if they had been holding back for too long.
Hengheng patted his small chest, sighing with lingering fear. “That was terrifying. Why did Daddy and Great-Grandpa suddenly show up?”
Nan Zhiyi nodded in agreement. “Tell me about it.”
She had been quite startled herself when she first saw those two.
Grandpa Nan looked at them and spoke thoughtfully, “Girl, I don’t think this can go on like this.”
If they had to scramble and hide every time there was a sudden visit, they would get caught sooner or later.
“I think it’s better if you find an opportunity to explain everything to Di Shijing as soon as possible.”
Nan Zhiyi nodded, agreeing in her heart.
Being so secretive really wasn’t a long-term solution; she had to find a chance to make things clear.
However, she didn’t know how Di Shijing would react when the time came, or if he would be easy to talk to…
Seeing this, the grandmother spoke up at the right moment. “I think this matter could perhaps be told to your Grandpa Di.”
Hearing this, Nan Zhiyi couldn’t help but feel a bit confused and looked up at her.
Grandmother weighed her words and explained, “Today, Grandpa Di clearly misunderstood and thought you had two other children with someone else. However, he didn’t seem to mind that at all.”
“So, if we tell him about the existence of the other two children, he will definitely stand on your side.”
She paused, her tone softening. “To be honest, he has criticized Jing quite a bit over the years because of you! He’s also angry in his heart, regretting that he didn’t stop Jing from divorcing you back then. Besides, for the sake of the children’s future, we need allies. Your Grandpa Di is an excellent candidate.”
“Think about it. If this ever comes out in the open, with his support within the Di Family, who would dare snatch the children from your hands?”
