Seven Years of Lies, I Ruined His Life - Chapter 9
Guan Qin’s call came just as Yu Qing and I had met up.
Apart from that one time.
My relationship with Yu Qing over the years had been more emotional than physical.
I had rejected her suggestion of becoming my mistress.
I admit, Yu Qing was the unobtainable white moonlight of my youth.
We were very young when we dated, and we broke up because her parents thought I had no diploma and no future.
At that time, neither of us could have predicted the future.
I never told Yu Qing that I had secretly gone to see her on her wedding day.
So now.
I didn’t want Yu Qing to bear the label of “the other woman.”
The way things were now was fine. We understood each other and met up occasionally.
It was good.
When Yu Qing saw it was Guan Qin calling, she paused. “Aren’t you going to answer your wife’s call? It might be urgent.”
That’s right.
I hadn’t told Yu Qing that Guan Qin and I were divorced.
I didn’t want my decision to interfere with her marriage.
And of course.
I had no plans to actually marry Yu Qing at the moment.
I shook my head. “It’s nothing. Let’s eat first.”
Yu Qing had personally cooked a few of my favorite home-style dishes.
She replied happily, “Okay,” untied the apron from her waist, draped it over the back of a chair, and began to serve me soup and rice.
Watching her busy herself like that.
It felt as if a regret from many years ago had suddenly been resolved.
