Chapter 14
Perhaps it was instinct, but Bai Caiyi trembled like a sieve the moment she saw Hu Qing.
She grimaced, “There’s nothing I can do, you know rabbits are afraid of foxes, right?”
It wasn’t until I sent Hu Qing away that she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
I explained the whole situation to her.
Before I could even take a sip of tea to soothe my throat, Bai Caiyi grabbed my wrist.
She checked my pulse, her brows furrowing deeply.
I pulled my hand back, somewhat displeased, “Why is everyone so disrespectful of others’ privacy?”
Bai Caiyi asked, “Your demonic aura is so obvious you can’t even hide it anymore?
“That old guy Fuyun is useless, only has some functional artifacts in his hands, and you can’t even fool him?”
I wasn’t the least bit worried, “I’ve been hiding it for so many years, it’s been worth it.”
Bai Caiyi looked at me without speaking, her eyes starting to redden again.
I quickly said, “Stop! You rabbit, once you start crying, you never stop.”
Bai Caiyi glared at me, “What about that kid Fan Hui? Is he just going to watch you walk into hell?”
“What can he do?” I laughed, “He helped block the way when we left today.”
“Besides, I only married him because of my master. Now that my master has been gone for a long time, there’s no need for me, a half-dead person, to drag him down.”
Bai Caiyi said nothing, hugging my arm, choking up a bit, “Jiang Ran, why is your life so hard?”
Hard?
I think it’s not so bad.
