Chapter 13
By the time we went out, it was already late, and the dim evening light meant not many people saw us.
My body swayed back and forth, feeling a bit uncomfortable.
“Um… could you shrink a little?” I asked with an awkward smile, “I could ride on you.”
Hu Qing: “…”
Although he seemed a bit annoyed, he still complied with my request.
I lay on his furry back, the night wind swiftly brushing past my face.
What a thrill!
Hu Qing leapt onto a high building and asked me, “Where to?”
I looked around and pointed to the brightest place in the distance.
“Go there.”
That was the palace.
Hu Qing didn’t even ask, just kicked his legs and leapt forward again.
I was so scared I hugged his neck tightly.
Hu Qing moved quickly, and in about half a quarter of an hour, he stopped.
I didn’t react in time and forgot to let go.
By then, he had already transformed into human form.
I was holding onto his neck, embraced in his arms.
This position… was quite embarrassing.
Hu Qing raised an eyebrow and looked at me: “Your face is red.”
I immediately flipped over and jumped down: “Tired.”
Hu Qing spoke indifferently: “Do you even have a conscience saying that?”
I ignored him, observed the surroundings, and then led him left and right into a sleeping chamber.
A gorgeously dressed palace concubine was drinking alone under the moon.
When she saw us, the two unexpected guests, she was almost scared into revealing her true form.
Bai Caiyi, the emperor’s most favored concubine.
She was also a little white rabbit I had saved a long time ago.
Hu Qing’s temple twitched: “You’ve really saved quite a few little animals, huh.”
Me: “You’re too kind, too kind.”
