Chapter 29
As expected, Duan Qinghong did not agree to my terms.
But he also refused to accept the property distribution plan in the divorce agreement.
He was smart.
If he agreed to inject the funds and then divorce me, he would have no chance of turning things around; however, agreeing to the distribution plan in the agreement was clearly beyond what he could bear.
Men are always more rational and colder than you imagine.
But it didn’t matter. The divorce proceedings between Duan Qinghong and me had already entered the process.
Cha Congshen immediately secured evidence of asset transfer and submitted a preservation application.
Fortunately, I was well prepared, so I didn’t lose ground during several negotiations with the opposing lawyer.
After a few rounds of negotiations, the proposal from Duan Qinghong’s lawyer noticeably improved.
When the opposing lawyer heard that we had evidence of Duan Qinghong’s asset transfers, he was clearly pressured and gradually showed signs of compromise.
The pretrial mediation changed the situation completely. Duan Qinghong and I had a calm and lengthy conversation.
He cried for a long time as well.
In the end, I secured 75% of the domestic assets, including real estate, savings, and a portion of the equity.
He agreed to pay a sum each month as Duan Tao’s education expenses.
The overseas properties and the unfinished trust were also transferred to Duan Tao’s name.
Before we parted, he gently embraced me:
“It’s my fault. I’m sorry for all I’ve put you through. At least it’s all over now.”
