Chapter 28
“I know.”
Thank you for letting me know.
Now, I have gathered almost all the means I could.
My marriage is far from perfect, but my evidence is truly complete.
Seeing that I had nothing more to say, she thought she had the upper hand.
“Aunt Lin, honestly you can’t blame me for this. If you want to blame someone, blame yourself for not being capable enough.”
“Men, you know, they all say they don’t care about having a boy or a girl, but in fact, they care to death.”
“I’m pregnant with boys, and twins at that. He said after you two separate, he’ll come to the U.S and marry me.”
Arguing is pointless. Having gotten the information I wanted, I had no intention of tangling with her any further.
“Oh? Is that so? Actually, you’re not even sure about what you just said. As far as I know, you two have already cut off contact. Besides, as a mistress, since you’ve come to me on your own initiative, it only shows that you’re out of options, doesn’t it?”
There was a long silence on the other end of the line. I heard her throat choke up with a hoarse sob:
“I’m not a mistress. The one who isn’t loved is the mistress.”
Oh! This sentence again. This is a very popular saying in our circle. When a few friends are chatting, they sometimes jokingly imitate the tone of a mistress with this line. I’ve heard it more than once.
I never thought that after all these twists and turns, I would become the subject of this line.
“You should thank me for letting you see clearly the problems between you two.” She seemed to have lost all reason, sobbing as she spat out some pre-rehearsed, utterly illogical PUA lines.
“Yes, I thank you.”
Thank you for telling me the truth.
For making my chain of evidence even more complete.
