Chapter 21
The summer night’s breeze was always gentle, so I suggested we leave the car and take a walk as a family of three.
Under the dim streetlights, Tommy was hopping around, singing loudly, “Baby shark, doo doo doo doo doo doo…”
I glanced at Jonathan beside me and leaned in to whisper a few words in his ear.
His eyes lit up as he turned to look at me, his expression mirroring Tommy’s exactly.
I laughed and linked my arm through his, pointing at the public electric scooter ahead, “Honey, I’m tired. Let’s take that home.”
His expression, which had just been as gentle as water, suddenly turned indescribable.
He glanced at the little dress I was wearing and asked, “Are you sure?”
I blinked.
Jonathan gave me a look that said he couldn’t refuse me, took off his suit jacket, and tied it around my waist.
Then, wearing just his shirt, he took Tommy in front and me in the back, and we rode the electric scooter.
Tommy had never been on an electric scooter before, and the wind was filled with his joyful laughter.
But we hadn’t gone two kilometers before we were stopped by the traffic police.
We were fined 20 for carrying passengers on the electric scooter.
Alas, we ended up taking a taxi home.
