Chapter 20
I had just stepped out of the bathroom when I was startled by a dark figure leaning against the wall.
The figure spoke, “Anna, how have you been all these years?”
It turned out to be Gavin. I almost thought someone had moved a wardrobe to the bathroom door.
Seeing my silence, he even tried to reach for my hand.
I wished I could jump two meters away on the spot.
“Don’t come any closer! I’m allergic to ugliness!”
Gavin’s face twisted for a moment but quickly recovered, “Anna, are you still blaming me? I had no choice back then, I…”
I hurriedly waved my hand to interrupt him, bowed to him three times on the spot, thanked him for not marrying me back then, truly a favor akin to rebirth, and then quickly escaped back to the party.
Just as I settled on the sofa, Gavin followed me.
At that moment, the noisy room fell silent for an instant.
Then came the sound of whispers.
“Is he one of our classmates?”
“What a handsome guy. Did our school have someone like him back then?”
“Wow, even the Gavin from back then pales in comparison to him.”
I followed the voices and saw that Jonathan had arrived.
I breathed a sigh of relief and quickly went over to take his arm.
“Let me introduce, this is my husband.”
Since Tommy was still waiting for us in the car, Jonathan and I only stayed briefly before leaving.
Watching Gavin and Jonathan stand together, they looked like they were from two different generations.
I sighed, realizing there’s no such thing as unresolved feelings in this world.
As we were going downstairs, Jonathan jokingly asked if the face-slapping scene I had planned was canceled.
Feigning tipsiness, I gently leaned my head on his shoulder and whispered, “I’ve already won.”
