My Contract Husband Won't Behave - Chapter 48
Bo Jiusi stopped above her, breathing hard.
The red had not faded from his eyes. His Adam’s apple moved, his voice impossibly hoarse. “And you still dared come to a hotel with another man?”
Nie Jingzhi turned her face away.
He pinched her chin, turned her face back toward him, and forced her to meet his eyes. “I asked Zhou Ke. It’s safe after three months.”
“Then let go! I haven’t reached three—”
Her words died. There was a different meaning in the way Bo Jiusi watched her.
His gaze moved down to her hand.
“I told you before. I had another use for these hands.”
Nie Jingzhi followed his gaze and flushed crimson.
“Don’t you dare, Bo Jiusi!”
“Why wouldn’t I? You were bold enough last time.”
He released her wrists, took one hand, interlaced their fingers, then slowly pried hers open one finger at a time.
Nie Jingzhi tried to pull back. He refused to let her.
“You…”
His mouth stopped her again.
This kiss was less fierce but far more lingering.
Her mind blurred beneath it, and she forgot to resist.
“Don’t move.”
Bo Jiusi lowered his eyes. His Adam’s apple rolled, his voice ragged. “You lit the fire. Put it out yourself…”
* * *
The room remained quiet for a long time.
Only their tangled breathing could be heard, occasionally interrupted by Nie Jingzhi’s muffled sobs and broken curses.
“Bo Jiusi, you bastard…”
“Mm.”
“I hate you…”
“Mm.”
“You don’t even like me. What right do you have to—mmph!”
Her mouth was sealed again.
By the time she could breathe, he had released her hand.
Weak all over, Nie Jingzhi lay facedown and buried herself in a pillow, shoulders trembling.
Bo Jiusi lay beside her, pulled her into his arms, and rested his chin on her head. His voice remained hoarse. “Why are you crying?”
“None of your business.” She punched his chest, though the blow was no stronger than a scratch.
He did not get angry, only tightened his embrace.
After a long while, Nie Jingzhi raised her face. Her eyes and nose were red, and a bite had left blood on her lip.
She glared at him, voice husky and muffled. “Bo Jiusi, go die.”
The sight of her looking fierce yet soft brought a pleased smile to his lips.
He took his phone from the bedside table and tossed it beside her.
“What?”
“Unlock it.”
She glared but picked it up. “Password.”
“0355.”
The screen lit.
“Photos.”
Nie Jingzhi opened the album and froze.
It contained every photograph she had sent him, arranged neatly. Some still carried her watermark, some were casual landscapes, and others were mirror selfies from fitting rooms.
She scrolled for a long time before reaching the end.
Apart from a few photos of documents, his album was almost entirely filled with pictures of her.
Nie Jingzhi looked up.
Bo Jiusi leaned against the headboard, face turned unnaturally aside and jaw rigid, while the tips of his ears glowed faintly red.
Her voice trembled. “You… saved all of them?”
“Mm.”
“Then why didn’t you answer me?”
“I didn’t want to.”
“You—”
“Annoying,” he interrupted sullenly. “If I answered one message, you’d demand two. If I responded to one photo, you’d send ten.”
Nie Jingzhi stared for two seconds, then laughed.
Looking down, she swiped across the screen and secretly set one image as his wallpaper.
It showed her in the white shirt with damp hair, collarbones and shoulders both innocent and sensual beneath amber light.
Bo Jiusi glanced over. He saw but said nothing.
Smiling, Nie Jingzhi returned the phone and nestled into his arms, face against his chest.
They rested in silence.
“I’m taking a shower.” She climbed out of his embrace and walked barefoot toward the bathroom.
After two steps, she looked back. “You’re not allowed in.”
Bo Jiusi leaned against the headboard, eyes narrowed on her back.
Nie Jingzhi entered and shut the door. Hot water fell, slowly filling the room with steam.
Eyes closed beneath the shower, she could see nothing but the recent scenes: his hand around her wrist, his breath against her neck, his red ears as he looked away.
She opened her eyes. In the misted mirror, marks remained across her shoulders and collarbones.
The water hid the door opening.
Powerful arms suddenly wrapped around her waist from behind.
Nie Jingzhi startled and turned into Bo Jiusi’s embrace. He had removed his clothes and wore only a towel; his hair was still dry.
He looked down, dark fire not entirely gone. “What are you doing…”
His kiss swallowed the rest. It was slow, almost as though he were waiting for refusal.
She did not push him away.
Bo Jiusi’s breathing deepened as he pressed her against the cool tile.
Water soaked them and his towel. He tore it away and threw it aside.
Nie Jingzhi pushed him back, her voice soft and coy. “Not until after three months. Don’t do anything reckless.”
He gave a muffled “Mm.”
“Bo Jiusi…” She spoke his name like a caress.
The man buried his face against her neck. “Help me.”
The flush at the corners of her eyes spread to her ears. She bit her lip. “In your dreams.”
“Will you help or not?”
