chapter 4
In my dream, I moved into Tomson Riviera and became neighbors with a certain tycoon.
I was happily listening to him reveal some behind-the-scenes stories about a trending celebrity, when a shrill voice call dragged me back to reality.
With my eyes still closed and feeling quite annoyed, I answered, “Hello?”
“Already asleep?”
I glanced at the clock. It was 3:50 a.m. I instinctively snapped back, “What else would I be doing?”
“Are you snapping at me?”
I instantly sobered up.
My Sponsor!
I softened my voice, “Baby, I wasn’t snapping at you.”
There was a brief silence on the other end, his voice tinged with a bit of drunkenness.
“Why didn’t you say good night to me before going to sleep?”
Honestly, I’ve been single since birth, so I never developed the habit of reporting in before bed.
But I couldn’t say that outright, so I came up with an excuse.
“I meant to, but I accidentally fell asleep.”
“You know you’re my Girlfriend, right?”
“I know.”
“From now on, I want every privilege other Boyfriends get, and even the ones they don’t. Otherwise, don’t expect me to renew.”
Renew? Is that even a thing?
“I got it. I’ll pay attention from now on. But-” I paused, feeling there was something I needed to clarify in advance, “Um… just so we’re clear, I’m only selling my skills, not my body.”
He laughed, “Don’t worry, I follow the law.”
I breathed a sigh of relief, feeling very satisfied with this job.
“Tomorrow morning, when you go downstairs for your early class, I want to see you and breakfast. I’ll send you the dorm building number and phone number in a bit.”
“Okay, Baby.”
“Mm. Go to sleep.”
“Then I’ll go to sleep now. Good night, Baby.”
“Mm.”
The call ended.
