Chapter 6
The photo of Shi Chuan and Wen He was sent to me by Jiang You.
Half a month ago, he started coordinating business with me, and our contact gradually increased.
Actually, we weren’t familiar with each other before.
My understanding of him was limited to being Shi Chuan’s roommate.
And the person who drank until the end at our wedding and even shed tears.
At that time, I teased Shi Chuan for having such an emotional roommate.
He just smiled.
But his expression was somewhat unnatural.
I didn’t quite understand then.
Now, it’s clear.
Jiang You booked a private chef.
Few people, strong privacy.
The dishes served were all my favorites.
“When are you getting divorced?” Jiang You suddenly asked.
I almost choked on the tea in my mouth.
I swallowed it down, and when I looked up, I had regained my composure: “Mr. Jiang is so concerned about a work partner’s private life?”
Jiang You sat across from me, the intricate lampshade dividing the light and shadow on his face into fragments.
Clearly only a few months younger than Shi Chuan, he has been in the business world for a long time, yet still retains a hint of youthful spirit.
“Can’t you see?”
He propped his face, looked at me, and curled his lips: “I’m trying to steal you away.”
Serious, yet extraordinarily candid.
“When you get divorced, I’m afraid I won’t even make it into the queue.”
“It’s all unrequited love, Shi Chuan was lucky to marry you, now I’ve finally waited him out.”
“Ming Zhao.”
He rested his chin on his hand, looking at me.
Like a fifteen or sixteen-year-old boy, leaning by the window, watching the girl in the white dress he secretly loves.
“Cheating deserves death.”
“You’ve crossed the line.” I put down my chopsticks, stood up, and grabbed my bag.
“Mr. Jiang, this meal is on me, we’re even.”
“My private life doesn’t need interference from others, next time we meet, we’ll just be work associates.”
“Ming Zhao!”
The person behind me hurriedly stood up, the chair scraping the floor, making a somewhat piercing sound.
I settled the bill and quickly walked out of the restaurant.
“Ming Zhao!”
The hem of my clothes was tugged, but not too forcefully.
Behind me came Jiang You’s aggrieved voice: “I’m sorry.”
“I know it’s wrong to interfere in your private life, I won’t do it again.”
I turned around and met his eyes.
Jiang You has very beautiful eyes.
When the moonlight reflects in them, they shine brightly.
“I just, just feel that being with him isn’t worth it.”
“Ming Zhao.”
“You deserve someone better.”
I’m not a fool.
Jiang You’s gaze was too straightforward.
Blatant, never concealed love.
But-
I looked at him and suddenly laughed.
I said, “You don’t understand.”
“Don’t understand… what?” Jiang You asked, puzzled.
I didn’t open my mouth to explain.
My relationship with Jiang You wasn’t familiar enough for me to lay out all those past experiences.
