Chapter 27 - The Water Ape Tribe
“You two cultivators have lured me out, and now you want to run because you can’t defeat me? It’s not that easy! If you escape today, how can I, the young master of the Water Ape Tribe, face the other demonic beasts again! Take this, Raging Waves!” The water ape swung his steel fork fiercely, creating a vacuum around Sun Qian and his companion. Suddenly, the surrounding water surged like thousands of galloping horses, crashing towards them.
The force of the thousand-foot waves was definitely enough to kill them instantly. Leng Yan knew that if he didn’t act now, it would be too late.
“A mere Water Ape dares to kill a disciple of the Five Elements Sect? Convergence of Ten Thousand Waters! Disperse!” Leng Yan rushed forward, fully unleashing the Blackwater Emperor Technique.
Instantly, a huge whirlpool centered around Leng Yan formed, continuously drawing the seawater into the divine power of his Blackwater Emperor Technique. The black droplets rapidly spun at the center of his forehead, condensing the Water Qi into the essence of water.
Just as the magical technique of Raging Waves was about to strike, Leng Yan commanded, “Disperse.” Like issuing an order, the once ferocious waves suddenly receded, becoming calm as if nothing had happened.
“Who are you? How dare you disrupt my magical technique!” The water ape had not anticipated his spell would be so easily countered and asked Leng Yan loudly.
“Who I am is none of your concern. Trying to kill a disciple of the Five Elements Sect in my presence is unacceptable!” Leng Yan declared impressively.
Sun Qian and his companion had thought they were doomed, but to their surprise, they were saved by Leng Yan. Observing his composed demeanor, they assumed he was a senior brother from their sect. Little did they know, Leng Yan’s cultivation level was actually not as high as theirs.
However, Leng Yan’s Blackwater Emperor Technique, being a legacy of the Ancestor of All Waters, was also a water element cultivation technique. As long as the opponent’s realm did not surpass his own by more than two levels, Leng Yan could hold his ground for a while. But the gap in realms meant that it was difficult for Leng Yan to defeat someone of a higher level without substantial magical power as support.
“Don’t be arrogant! Let’s see what you’re made of! Water Fish Charge!” Water Ape roared, pointing his steel fork at Leng Yan, as thousands of water fish, condensed from water, gathered around him. The mouths of these water fish were sharp icicles, each over five feet long, clearly possessing great power.
The thousands of water fish, like a thousand flying swords, rushed towards him like lightning, the dense icicles making Leng Yan’s hair stand on end.
“Damn it! Going all out with his powerful moves right from the start, why didn’t he use them when fighting those two earlier!” Leng Yan cursed inwardly, but he dared not hesitate. “Water Dragon Technique!”
With a dragon’s roar echoing through the water, the Water Dragon Technique instantly formed, the surrounding water powers bowing down as if in worship. The ten-meter-long water dragon quickly doubled in size, with a faint aura of majesty emanating from it, causing half of the thousands of water fish to instantly collapse.
The dragon’s tail whipped, stirring the currents, as the water dragon seemed about to devour Water Ape whole, opening its maw and soaring forward.
“What cultivation technique is this? It even has the essence of water! Water Ape Fist!” Water Ape was shocked, but it was too late to retreat. Suddenly, he pounded his chest, his eyes turning blood red, and his body swelled more than two meters, his white fur turning light blue. He threw a punch that, though seemingly ordinary, forced the seawater to part around it.
Water Ape’s fist collided with the dragon’s head, creating a violent explosion. Water Ape was pushed back several tens of meters, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. His eyes flickered with an indescribable light as he turned and fled with the current. Only his voice echoed through the water. “Wait for me, I will return!”
Seeing Water Ape flee, Leng Yan breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that his powerful strike had intimidated Water Ape; otherwise, it would have been him fleeing. Now, the magical power Leng Yan had left was only enough to conjure one more Water Dragon Technique, after which he would have to rely on his magical treasure to fend off attacks. With Water Ape gone, he felt temporarily safe.
Sun Qian and his companion saw Water Ape defeated and their faces lit up with excitement. They stepped forward, gratefully saying, “Thank you for your help!”
“Let’s not talk about that now, we need to leave this place! Water Ape has retreated to seek reinforcements; it’s too dangerous here!” After saying this, Leng Yan turned and walked towards the distance, with Sun Qian and his companion exchanging glances before following him.
Within the Tide Sea, a massive cave concealed by seaweed lies beneath a trench, where several white water apes, each holding a steel fork, patrol back and forth.
These patrolling water apes are all at the True Essence Realm, notably lacking the single horn on their heads.
As the water apes were conducting their rounds, a white figure approached, walking on water.
“Greetings, Young Master!” the water apes respectfully exclaimed as the white figure drew near.
“Where is my father now?” asked the Water Ape Young Master, his expression grim.
“Reporting to the Young Master, the Chieftain is in the inner residence with the ladies,” one replied.
“Understood. Continue your patrol, and capture anyone suspicious on sight!” The Water Ape Young Master set his steel fork aside and hurried into the cave.
Inside the inner residence, within a stone chamber illuminated by glowing pearls embedded in the walls, a robust water ape, bare-skinned, was engaged in primal activities with six or seven fish demons transformed into women, who continuously pleaded for mercy, unable to endure the water ape’s robustness any longer.
This water ape was Yuan Hong, the chieftain of the Water Ape Tribe and father of Yuan Shao, the Water Ape Young Master.
Upon entering the inner residence, Yuan Shao caught sight of this erotic scene-his father in the midst of battle with six beauties. His desires flaring, he approached one of the women, undid his trousers, and proceeded without another word.
…
Several hours later, both father and son felt immensely satisfied and finally rested.
“Shao’er, what’s the matter? You seemed upset when you came back earlier, even taking your anger out on your foster mothers,” Yuan Hong said, holding a piece of blood coral and admiring it as he spoke.
“Today I encountered a human cultivator whose magical techniques using the water element had no effect on him. Moreover, his techniques bore the essence of water, leading me to believe that his cultivation technique must be a top-tier Water Element Divine Power,” Yuan Shao informed Yuan Hong.
“Water Essence! Are you sure? I’ve reached the Unification Realm and haven’t yet condensed a single bit of Water Essence. If this person truly possesses such Divine Power, we must seize it,” Yuan Hong said excitedly as he stood up.
“There’s no mistake. When I battled this person, the Water Primordial Force within me felt an urge to worship him, which clearly shows the Divine Power he cultivates is extraordinary.”
“Right! You make a good point. Dispatch all the fish and shrimp immediately to find this person’s whereabouts; we must acquire this cultivation technique. Also! I cannot take action myself, just send a few people from the True Essence Realm. Keep it low-key, treat it as a normal vendetta. We can’t let other tribes notice, or we’ll be in trouble, understand?” Yuan Hong’s eyes revealed his determination; this cultivation technique was too important for him.
With this cultivation technique, he could drastically enhance his own strength, and soon the entire Tide Sea would be the territory of the Water Ape Tribe, with him as its lord. Then, he would no longer have to fear the cultivators on land.
“Father thinks of everything. I know what to do now,” Yuan Shao said with a cold laugh.
…
Meanwhile, Leng Yan was leading Sun Qian and Huang Lian to find a safe place.
Looking around, they were surrounded by coral taller than a person, and seeing no danger, Leng Yan decided to stop here and said, “We should be safe here! You two must be disciples from a fire element mountain gate. What brings you to the Tide Sea? With your current cultivation level, it’s too dangerous here, and you can’t utilize your full strength.”
“We didn’t want to come here! But we were compelled and had no choice,” Huang Lian said innocently.
“Compelled? What happened?” Leng Yan asked.
“The two of us were servants at the Water Kingdom’s Prince Bao’s estate back in the mundane world. Later, we were sent to the fire element mountain gate to acquire fire cultivation techniques for Prince Bao.”
“Now that we are of no use, we’ve been dispatched to search for refining materials for Prince Bao.”
“Some time ago, Prince Bao was humiliated at a water element mountain gate, so he’s been gathering materials to forge a magical treasure, hoping to seek revenge at the newcomers’ martial meeting in three months. This Monohorn Water Ape is one of the specified materials,” Sun Qian said quietly, his head bowed.
“Prince Bao,” Leng Yan muttered the name, feeling a sense of familiarity. Suddenly he remembered someone – the person who had challenged him during the external gate assessment and whom he had taught a lesson.
It had been so long without any action from him that Leng Yan thought he had given up. Little did he know, he was merely lying low, preparing to reclaim his honor!
