Chapter 26 - Tide Sea
In Yong’an Town, after Leng Yan killed Liu He, the town returned to its usual bustling state, with the townspeople resuming their everyday lives. Meanwhile, inside the inn, Leng Yan had not left his room for a month. He was deeply immersed in cultivating the Seven Emotions and Six Desires Technique.
The spirit of Seven Emotions and Six Desires enveloped the entire town of Yong’an, perpetually emanating from the people, as these emotions and desires are ceaseless in humans.
“Sadness, gather! Possession desire, gather… Spirit of Seven Emotions and Six Desires, condense!” Leng Yan sat on his bed, his hands moving in sync with the spiritual transformations of the technique, little wisps of sexual desire energy condensing in front of him.
Gradually, this energy took on a human form, astonishingly resembling Leng Yan himself.
This was the Mind Spirit formed from the condensation of the Seven Emotions and Six Desires. The Mind Spirit’s expressions were fierce at times, joyful at others, and sometimes angry, its face constantly changing. Once the Mind Spirit fully transformed into a human form, Leng Yan suddenly opened his eyes, bit his tongue tip, and a drop of essence blood entered the Mind Spirit’s forehead. Following this, he shouted loudly, “Seven Emotions and Six Desires, merge into the body of the Mind Spirit, solidify!”
As Leng Yan executed the technique, strands of white lines flew from his body and merged into the Mind Spirit. From then on, Leng Yan’s Seven Emotions and Six Desires detached from his own body and merged into the Mind Spirit, no longer controlled by them but controlling them instead. If there was sadness, he could slay it; desires could also be slain.
A month of cultivation had finally yielded some success. Integrating the Mind Spirit into himself, Leng Yan opened the window and gazed at the passersby outside, feeling profoundly moved.
Had he not secretly learned martial arts, would he still be begging on the streets, or perhaps already dead from starvation? If Fang Rui had not tried to kill him, would he not have pursued the path of cultivation, nor discovered what Cave Heavens or Dao Magic were?
Life is unpredictable, and all one can do is survive and live a life worth living!
Opening the door, he stepped out of the inn and walked away from Yong’an Town. Summoning Little Tiger, he headed towards the Tide Sea.
…
Through the primeval forest! An endless sea stretched out before him, with massive fish often leaping from the water’s surface, and even larger birds swooping down from the skies above to snatch their food.
Leng Yan handed Little Tiger back to Bai Ling and stepped into the Tide Sea. As he approached, the water retreated from him, always forming a dry area around him half a meter away. This was the water element magical technique called the “Water Repelling Technique”…
Deep within the Tide Sea, it was somewhat dark. The sunlight that pierced the water’s surface couldn’t reach the deeper seabed and had to be explored through mental power.
Walking on the seabed’s sand and stones, schools of fish often swam by, and some sharks, not knowing any better, tried to eat Leng Yan, only to be killed by him, their faint death energy absorbed.
In the outer sea, there were only ordinary marine life, no demonic beasts, but the deeper one went, the more dangerous it became.
It was unclear how long he had walked, but no fish could be seen in the sea anymore, just utter silence. It seemed Leng Yan had entered the territory of some demonic beast.
As expected, Leng Yan would soon face an attack. He drew the Azure Sky Sword, holding it in his palm with the tip pointing to the ground, ready for a sudden assault.
The sea floor world was filled with coral, rubble, and drifting seaweed, hiding unknown dangers.
Suddenly, the water surged, and a dark shadow rushed towards him like lightning, without a second thought! The Azure Sky Sword unleashed a swift sword qi. As a water element magical treasure, the Azure Sky Sword faced no resistance in the sea, and the sword qi was extremely fast.
“Boom!”
With an explosive sound, the sword qi dissipated, but the speed of the attacking demonic beast was halted. It turned out to be an Ironhead Blotfish.
This Ironhead Blotfish, with a body colored like rubble, was hard to spot when hidden among stones, and it was only about ten meters long.
From its head, which protruded like a steel disc, the earlier sword qi was blocked. Looking at the fish’s head, there was not even a scratch, a testament to the Ironhead Blotfish’s renowned reputation!
The strength of this Ironhead Blotfish was also at the realm of divine power and magic. Its attack was blocked by Leng Yan, and with a flick of its tail, its speed suddenly increased again. Spikes grew from its disc-like head, emitting light.
Seeing the Ironhead Blotfish charge again, Leng Yan did not dodge. In the water, his strength was not just enhanced by one level.
In a blink! The Ironhead Blotfish was already before him, its spikes seeming ready to pierce into Leng Yan’s body.
“Mystic Ice Shield! Deploy!”
In the sea, where Water Qi is abundant, the mystic ice shield’s magical technique instantly condenses, shielding Leng Yan in the front.
The shield is over a meter thick, completely obscuring Leng Yan’s view. Just then, Leng Yan leaps over the mystic ice shield. At the same time, an Ironhead Blotfish crashes into it.
The Azure Sky Sword, like lightning, pierces through the back of the Ironhead Blotfish.
In pain, the fish thrashes its tail wildly, swiftly escaping a hundred meters away, dragging Leng Yan, who is tightly clutching the Azure Sky Sword, the same distance.
“Escape! Let’s see you try! Sky-splitting Slash, sever the tail, and see how you swim!” Leng Yan, relentless, grips the Azure Sky Sword with one hand while summoning the Sun Essence Wheel with the other, transforming it into Golden Light to sever the fish’s tail.
Without its tail, the Ironhead Blotfish, like a creature without legs, halts and begins to sink towards the seabed.
This demonic beast, first injured at the back and now with its tail severed, is at the end of its strength. Leng Yan quickly pulls out the Azure Sky Sword and stabs it into the gills to kill it, extracting the inner elixir and placing it into the storage space of the Immortal Land.
Having killed one demonic beast, two remain to complete the mission. He continues forward, but after a long walk, he sees no more traces of any demonic beasts.
At that moment, suddenly, a bright light appears ahead. Leng Yan rushes forward to see what it is.
“Xu Mi Immortal’s Abode! There’s actually an abode here! No way! This place isn’t even hidden; if there really was an abode, it should have been plundered already. How could there still be treasures emitting light?”
Leng Yan hides behind a reef rock, observing the stone cave within the pile of rocks. Although this area of reef rocks is rugged, it is not concealed, and the cave entrance is not hidden either.
Moreover, considering the frequency of visitors to the Tide Sea, this place should have been discovered long ago; it’s unlikely any treasures would remain.
With these doubts in mind, Leng Yan decides it’s best to keep his distance to avoid ambushes. Just as he is about to retreat, he hears a roar! “Kongjian, don’t think you can suppress me much longer. I have regained most of my power. In a short while, I will break the seal, and then you shall be utterly destroyed.”
“Elder Ghost! Let go of your obsession, cease your delusions! Amen!”
As the Buddhist chant fades, the abode before Leng Yan’s eyes vanishes, leaving only the rock, with no sign of the cave entrance.
“What’s going on here? Could it really be an immortal’s abode, and there are people inside? From their conversation, both individuals seem to have high cultivation levels. Could they also be ones sealed by Yi Xuan?” Leng Yan thought to himself.
Slowly retreating from the area, Leng Yan knew that with his current strength, it was best to avoid these secretive figures. In front of these old monsters, he probably wouldn’t even have a chance to fight back.
Having left the reef rocks for several miles, he had now entered the inner sea of the Tide Sea, a place where demonic beasts of the True Essence Realm were likely to appear, necessitating extra caution.
The light from the Azure Sky Sword was completely concealed; in the dark depths of the sea, even a glimmer of light could be a dangerous lure.
As Leng Yan cautiously moved forward, suddenly he heard the sounds of a skirmish ahead, as if someone was fighting a demonic beast.
“Sun Qian, this Water Ape is formidable; we can’t beat it! Let’s get out of here quickly!” a woman in red, waving a fiery red folding fan, called out as she retreated step by step, frantically.
“Huang Lian, you go first, I’ll hold it off for a while,” Sun Qian replied, wielding a fiery red middle-grade spiritual weapon flying sword, fiercely attacking the Water Ape ahead to cover for the woman called Huang Lian.
The Water Ape, completely white with a single horn on its head, wielded a steel fork, continuously swinging it to stir up water snakes attacking the two.
Upon closer inspection, Leng Yan noticed that the two were wearing robes of the Fire Element mountain gate from the Five Elements Sect, making them fellow sect members. Both had reached the peak of the Magical Power Realm, whereas the Water Ape was at the initial stage of the True Essence Realm. Yet, the duo was being pushed back continuously by the Water Ape, in a perilously dangerous situation.
Their cultivation techniques were of the Fire Element, which naturally reduced their effectiveness in water, especially against an opponent that was a Water Element demonic beast.
Seeing that the two were sticking together through adversity and not abandoning each other to escape alone, Leng Yan judged their character to be good. Thus, he decided to lend a hand.
