Chapter 9
I couldn’t help but pause.
Were those broken things really worth him coming back for?
“They’re all smashed, gone.”
“Young Master Montgomery can just buy new ones. If there’s nothing else, I’m blocking you, okay?”
I just took ten million from him yesterday, promising never to bother him again.
Yet I hadn’t deleted his contact.
That was my mistake.
I had to make my stance clear.
The call fell into silence again, leaving only the crackling sound of static.
After a while, a stubborn and cold question broke through:
“Where are…”
The word “are” was only half-spoken.
Then my phone, which hadn’t been charged overnight, shut off abruptly.
I clicked my tongue, instinctively reaching for the charging cable.
But I forgot, this wasn’t my home.
There was no power strip or charger beside the bed.
Only warm, solid eight-pack abs.
My wrist was grabbed, and my body fell into a firm embrace.
The male host had been awakened by my touch, his arms wrapped tightly around me, enclosing me completely.
His voice was lazy and magnetic:
“If my dear likes touching, then touch a little longer.”
“Don’t switch partners tonight, okay?”
“I want to spend more time with my dear.”
I nestled into a comfortable position in his arms and smiled:
“Don’t be too greedy.”
“You have to give the other handsome guys at the club a chance to shine.”
Suddenly, I somewhat understood Julian Montgomery.
Turns out, when you’re just taking what you need, without planning a future with the other person.
Sticking to just one.
It really is… quite monotonous.
