Chapter 10
Morning.
I was woken by a commotion downstairs.
Thinking Bo Anzhi was acting up again, I stormed downstairs in a huff.
As I neared the living room, a familiar male voice reached my ears.
Unlike Bo Anzhi’s mature, steady tone, this one was bright and clear, like a goofy college kid.
“Bro, are you hiding someone here?”
“No.”
“I don’t believe you. Let me see.”
“No.”
“You won’t even let me look? It’s not like I’ll steal her from you. My goddess-you know, the one I got you to hire at your company, my baby Yanyan… she’s a hundred times better than whoever you’ve got stashed away.”
“It’s a shame she’s on a business trip. I asked her manager, and they said you arranged it. Why are you so mean!”
Yanyan… baby?
A flicker of surprise went through me.
I quietly walked up behind the two of them.
“Why… why are you down here!?”
Bo Anzhi shot to his feet, so flustered he was practically digging his toes into the floor.
The goofy college kid beside him also turned around.
Our eyes met. The scene descended into chaos.
“Yan… Yanyan…”
“Bo… Bo Min?”
“Senior Ji, what are you doing here?”
Then, Bo Min grabbed Bo Anzhi’s arm, a bashful look on his face.
“Hehehe, brother~~ is this my graduation surprise from you?”
Bo Anzhi shoved him away, steadying his violently shaking body.
Then, his voice trembling, he declared, “Yes! I’m her dirty little secret! I’m the one she’s doing shameful things with! Surprise! Are you surprised!”
Bo Anzhi clenched his fist and punched Bo Min.
“You’re surprised, are you? It’s fine. It’s trendy for men to be the other man these days, you wouldn’t understand.”
“Her main man is old and washed up. You know the saying, right? When beauty fades, love dwindles.”
“Besides, she went to all this trouble just to hide me away.”
“Don’t get too cocky. Maybe one day you’ll end up just like me!”
The information overload was too much. The phone in Bo Min’s hand fell to the floor with a thud.
The silence in the living room drew everyone’s attention to the fallen phone.
The screen lit up, displaying a photo as the lock screen.
And the people in the photo were me… and Bo Min.
On graduation day, Bo Min had shyly followed me around. My roommate snapped a picture of us as a memento.
In the photo, we were standing close, smiling sweetly.
Looking very much like… a couple in love.
