I Divorced Him Quietly, Then He Went Crazy - Chapter 14
The next day, I woke up very early.
Walking downstairs, I saw a car parked not far away.
Actually, I hadn’t seen this car before.
But in that moment, as if I had a premonition, I walked over, and through the half-open car window, I saw Jeremy.
He was leaning back in the seat, eyes closed, his brows slightly furrowed, sleeping restlessly.
For a moment, he actually seemed a little pitiful.
It seemed he had been here all night.
Thinking of those thirteen calls last night.
I pursed my lips, and ultimately didn’t wake him.
Leaving the complex, I managed to get Brandon Zhou’s contact information.
Then I called him.
As soon as the call connected, he immediately said, “Charlotte.”
My voice paused.
I didn’t bother to correct his address, asking, “How did you know it was me?”
He was caught off guard, cleared his throat twice, and after a while, he said, “About half a year ago, Jeremy used my phone to call you. I saved your number with a note.”
I hadn’t expected such an answer.
Half a year ago.
I suddenly remembered, there was indeed such an incident.
At that time, I was taking a nap and was still half-asleep when I received that call.
I thought it was a delivery I had ordered a few days ago, said a couple of casual words, and then hung up.
The person on the other end hadn’t spoken, just listened to me quietly.
Finally, they just hummed softly.
I felt then that the voice was a little familiar, but I didn’t think much of it.
Now it seemed that person was actually Jeremy.
Brandon saw that I hadn’t spoken, and added, “He wanted to call you two years ago. He’d looked at that number for two years, even I memorized it, but he never dared to call.”
“This was half a year ago when I couldn’t take it anymore and dialed it in front of him.”
Couldn’t dare.
It was hard to imagine that a man so adept at strategizing could have such hesitant moments.
I sighed, said I understood, and then asked him to come over and take Jeremy away.
Otherwise, if he kept sleeping there,
it was highly likely someone would take photos and post them online once people started gathering.
Brandon immediately agreed: “Alright, I’ll be there soon.”
