Chapter 15
“What did you just do?”
The side hall door opened and closed, and Shen Yunian entered, bringing a chill with him. I leisurely fastened my collar, feigning ignorance:
“What are you talking about?”
My wrist was suddenly seized by him.
“You’re not clumsy. That jug of wine, I just checked it. What did you put in it?”
Put in it?
I am someone who not only loves to deceive but also holds grudges, always repaying grievances and enmities.
Princess Yurou rewarded me with a whip, and I must get my due.
“Are you going to speak or not?”
Shen Yunian’s pupils contracted, provoked by me, he suddenly clamped my neck, pinning me against the wall.
“I, I… will speak!”
I was frightened, and only then did Shen Yunian loosen his grip, though he still held my pulse.
It’s nothing much, I just added a little sedative to the princess’s wine. There’s a polo match this afternoon, and the princess is quite skilled at playing polo in Jing City. When the sedative takes effect, she will inevitably feel dizzy.
“You just need to seize the moment, protect her, and the princess will surely favor you.”
“The Shen Family has done much for the princess in the corruption case, yet the princess doesn’t seem to value the Shen Family much. Eldest Young Master, are you satisfied?”
I pouted, my expression as sincere as could be: “I’m only thinking of your career.”
Shen Yunian chuckled coldly: “Petty tricks.”
“Or perhaps…” I paused, probing: “I’ve heard that the princess and you have some past… Are you reluctant?”
Shen Yunian’s face turned grim: “Stop prying into baseless rumors.”
He suddenly released me, and I fell to the ground, watching him leave with a flick of his sleeve.
I dusted off my skirt and stood up, chuckling. I’ve deceived him once again.
