Chapter 17
After placating my boss, I hung up and headed back to the room to find Lu Xiao.
The music in the club had died down for a moment.
As I was about to push the door open, I heard my bestie and the other guys teasing Lu Xiao.
“Brother Xiao, didn’t you say you were bringing my friend Lin Ting? Where is she?”
“You’re so hooked on her, but you still haven’t won her over? Is it because it’s your first time chasing a girl, and you don’t know how?”
“I’m working on it. She’s just too shy to say yes.”
“I’m jealous. At least Brother Xiao has the guts to be a simp. Guys like me who don’t even dare approach their crushes are just pathetic admirers.”
“Then what does that make me? I only dare to message her from behind a screen. An e-simp?”
“Hahahahaha! In that case, Brother Xiao’s ‘simp’ title sounds way better.”
“Screw you.”
Lu Xiao retorted lazily, then clicked his tongue.
“It’s annoying. You guys have no idea how good Lin Ting is at this.”
“She’s so damn good at being cute. Just now, she was talking right into my ear, breathing on me. She smelled so good, and her voice was so soft.”
The room instantly erupted in a chorus of primal howls.
“Holy crap, my bestie is that skilled?!”
“The old iron tree is finally blooming! Look at him, he’s even getting talkative.”
“Brother Xiao, this isn’t just being smitten. It’s like Lin Ting put a curse on you!”
“Bullshit. She’s pure. She wouldn’t know anything about that kind of stuff.”
“Oh, and by the way, she held my ring finger on the way in. You guys know what the ring finger means, right?”
“Well, I know what it means. She definitely wants to marry me.”
Me: “…”
I do not.
I really do not.
Your Honor, I am tired of pleading my innocence.
