Good Night, Mr. Ghost - Chapter 29
It was truly terrifying.
Jiang hugged his arms tightly, feeling chills running down his spine.
He crouched down to comfort the girl.
“Miss Xu, let’s go. There shouldn’t be anything else,” the young man gently coaxed.
Xu Moli was sobbing uncontrollably, looking at the young man with tear-streaked cheeks, choking out, “Teacher, really, I never thought she would actually jump. I really, really didn’t want Yi to die. I didn’t want her to die, truly.”
“I understand, I understand. It’s not your fault. Let’s go, let’s get out of here,” the young man softly replied.
As a married man, he had to be cautious about avoiding any inappropriate situations.
He couldn’t offer physical comfort.
Xu Moli nodded, “Yes, teacher, we…”
Before she could finish her sentence.
They both heard a song coming from below, distant and eerie.
“Blood flows on the railing-slowly spreading everywhere. I want to see beautiful flowers bloom in the blood-my jasmine, pure and flawless…”
With the song, something seemed to be moving upwards, dragging heavy footsteps, leaving a dripping sound on the stairs.
Jiang swallowed hard, feeling he was reaching his limit.
Xu Moli stared blankly at the open rooftop door, motionless.
Jiang Chenyi realized this solo act had a sequel.
If they went downstairs now, they might encounter something unpleasant…
Scoff.
Jiang was scared, clutching the jade ring, staring at the staircase, trying to hypnotize himself.
Jiang was a man who could live with ghosts, how could he be afraid of them?
Scoff, Jiang was indeed a little scared.
Damn it, what exactly did Lin Yi want?
Trying to scare them to death?
No, she wouldn’t succeed. He had Mr. Ghost! If pushed to the limit, he would perform a grand magic show-a spectacular human transformation act!!
The song grew clearer.
“Pure and flawless jasmine, blooming in blood, tightly wrapped in the heart. My lovely flower, do you miss me? Please speak your wishes, ah-ah, ah ah ah~ My most cherished flower, bloom before me, tell me all your wishes, I will fulfill them…”
The chaotic song, accompanied by heavy footsteps, was like a live horror movie.
A shadow appeared at the dark doorway.
It was Lin Yi after the fall.
Blood flowed, creating a dripping sound on the ground, one drop after another.
Jiang Chenyi looked at her, like a cat with its fur standing on end, and asked, “Lin Yi, what do you want?!”
Lin Yi looked at him, shrugged, and smirked, “I just want to take back what I deserve.”
Then, Jiang Chenyi felt something binding him.
Perhaps it was Lin Yi’s doing.
The female ghost dragged her body, approaching the kneeling Xu Moli, crouching down, revealing a bloody smile.
“My jasmine, do you remember your words?” The ghost’s voice was gentle yet eerie.
Xu Moli’s body stiffened, trembling uncontrollably, then nodded.
Lin Yi reached out, brushing the hair from the girl’s ear, her slippery fingertips gliding over the girl’s skin, asking more softly, “Do you know which words I’m referring to?”
Xu Moli obediently shook her head.
Like a small object that could be manipulated, obedient, delicate, and endearing.
Lin Yi laughed, leaning close to the girl’s nose, looking into her timid eyes, whispering, “Moli, you said I could do anything. Right? I can do anything. No matter what, you would agree.”
Xu Moli nodded, not daring to blink.
She was very scared.
Lin Yi caressed her cheek, softly saying, “Then, Moli, I want you to belong completely to me, okay?”
Xu Moli’s eyes widened, filled with confusion, unsure how to respond.
Lin Yi lifted her chin, chuckling, “I like you, I love you, Moli, I love you so much I’ve gone mad. Won’t you compensate me?”
She was malicious.
Using the other’s guilt to achieve her goal.
She wanted Xu Moli’s love, wanted Xu Moli, wanted everything from her.
Jiang Chenyi watched the reversal unfold, feeling his brain was overloaded.
Xu Moli felt her brain was also overwhelmed.
So, she could only look at the other, dumbfounded.
Lin Yi caressed her features, cheerfully saying, “Finally said it. You don’t know, do you? I started liking you when you came over. How could you be so silly? Thinking I was bullied? Just because I was hurt? Silly girl.”
She tapped the other’s nose, her tone indulgent, “I was the one who struck first, beating them so badly, yet you could only see my superficial injuries, not their hidden ones. Silly, like a naive deer, sent to the predator without realizing.”
Being called silly by Lin Yi.
Xu Moli’s eyes widened.
Wanting to refute but not daring.
Jiang Chenyi looked at the two, feeling, indeed, Xu Moli was a bit silly.
“Too much kindness isn’t a good thing, you know. You overheard me talking to others, heard me slandering you, yet you still came over.” Lin Yi caressed the girl’s eyelids, feeling the soft touch, trembling with unease.
“Even though I tried to restrain myself, even though I tried to distance myself from you, why did you still provoke me?”
She leaned close to the girl’s lips, exhaling cold breath, “Why force me? My stupid family found out I liked girls, called me a freak, wanted to send me away. I wouldn’t let them succeed. I want you to remember me forever, forever.”
She touched the pink lips, then withdrew, “But I’m lucky, aren’t I? I became a ghost.”
Xu Moli’s mind was blank, her eyes filled with bewilderment, asking, “What should I do?”
“Come with me. We’ll go to a place where no one knows us, and live well,” the ghost coaxed.
The girl clenched her hand, “But my mom and dad.”
“Don’t be silly, your stepmother wishes you were dead, doesn’t she? Moli, what good is staying?”
“But, I can’t stop going to school.” Xu Moli blinked.
“I’ll take care of it, don’t worry.” Lin Yi caressed the corner of her lips.
“What about our future?” Xu Moli looked helplessly at the ghost.
Lin Yi laughed, “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of everything. I’ll treat you like a princess, pamper you, just like before, okay?”
Just like before.
Xu Moli remembered, back when they were friends.
Chatting together, studying together, eating together.
Lin Yi would take her out of class, to that ice cream shop, ordering her a chocolate ice cream.
Lin Yi loved giving her small gifts, and would happily accept the worthless trinkets she made.
Those were her happiest times.
Let’s go, no one needs her anyway.
Family doesn’t need her, teachers don’t need her, classmates don’t need her…
There’s nothing worth staying for here.
Xu Moli hesitantly raised her hand, placing it in the ghost’s hand, timidly saying, “Then Yi, can you promise not to leave me?”
“Of course.” Lin Yi smiled.
She wouldn’t leave her jasmine.
She would use the best of everything, the most love to nurture her, then take more love.
The ghost cradled the girl’s face, leaving bloody marks on her.
Lin Yi looked at the anxious girl, saying, “But before that, Moli, help me with something.”
“Okay.” Xu Moli nodded, not even asking.
Complete trust.
Weak, kind, easily trusting others, used to taking care of others.
A personality easy to control.
The ghost brushed aside the girl’s long hair, whispering, “It might hurt. If you can’t bear it, push me away.”
Xu Moli swallowed, clutching the other’s clothes tightly.
Sticky, cold touch.
Lin Yi leaned in, burying her head in the girl’s neck, arms wrapping tightly around the girl’s slender body.
She opened her mouth, revealing sharp teeth, biting into the soft skin.
The skin tore open, revealing the flesh beneath.
As the wound tore, blood flowed freely.
Lin Yi greedily sucked the blood.
Xu Moli’s eyes were filled with tears, trying hard to hold back her tears, pitifully sniffling.
Jiang Chenyi watched the two girls seemingly doing something they shouldn’t be doing.
“……”
He closed his eyes.
See no evil, hear no evil.
If he had known it would be like this, he wouldn’t have come.
Eating someone else’s dog food.
What was originally a horror film suddenly flipped into a romance.
When the blood slowly stopped, Lin Yi reluctantly lifted her head, licking the sweet blood from her lips, looking at Xu Moli.
“Does it hurt?”
Xu Moli tried hard to suppress herself, tears swirling in her eyes, still trying to say, “It doesn’t hurt!”
Lin Yi looked at her, laughed, kissed her nose, genuinely exclaiming, “So cute.”
Xu Moli heard this, and burst into tears, suddenly hugging the ghost, “Wah, it hurts so much, worse than my period, wah, Yi, why did you bite me?”
Lin Yi stroked the sobbing girl, chuckling, “Because I want your love.”
“Wah, is there love in blood?” Xu Moli scrunched her face, looking at Lin Yi.
Lin Yi nodded, saying, “Drinking your blood will slowly turn me into a ‘normal person’, Moli, I might bite you again, is that okay?”
She pinched the girl’s earlobe, watching it turn a cute shade of red.
Xu Moli thought for a moment, asking, “Will you bite me to death?”
“No, I can’t bear to.”
“Uh, then bite me lightly next time.” The girl said seriously.
Jiang Chenyi listened to their conversation, sighed, no matter what, this was fine.
He asked, “Then, Miss Lin, can you let me go?”
He’s been bound for a long time.
Why hasn’t he been released yet?
What did he do wrong?
He was just eating dog food, that’s all.
Lin Yi looked at him, saying, “It wasn’t me.”
The young man opened his eyes, looking at the now normal-looking Lin Yi, “Huh?”
“It was me.” Behind him, a light male voice spoke, he leaned close to Jiang’s ear, gently blowing, “It was me.”
Jiang Chenyi: Great, now we can start the horror film.
