“This is your family dinner, you shouldn’t have brought me here.”

Across the tablecloth, Jiang Ye grasped my hand, kneading it wantonly.

“Did you forget, sis?”

“You want to be ordinary siblings with me, and since we’re siblings, that makes us family. Isn’t it normal for you to be here?”

I tried to withdraw my hand.

Unsuccessfully.

Even when the waiter led Ms. Zheng and Mr. Jiang in, Jiang Ye stubbornly refused to let me go.

Seeing an extra person in the private room, both of them paused for a moment but quickly composed themselves and took their seats as if nothing was amiss.

“Ye has grown so much, I heard you got into S University?”

Mr. Jiang scrutinized Jiang Ye, seemingly assessing the worth of this son he had long abandoned.

Jiang Ye sneered, “If you have something to say, just say it. If you need to fart, just do it. If you ramble on, we’ll leave right now.”

A flicker of displeasure crossed Mr. Jiang’s face, but he suppressed his temper and said, “This time, it’s your mother who begged me to see you.”

“You’d better be smart, seize this opportunity, meet a few heiresses, and make a name for yourself in the circle. It’ll make it easier to marry one in the future.”

Jiang Ye’s face turned cold, and before he could ask what that meant, the door to the private room opened again.

“Uncle Jiang, Aunt Zheng, hello.”

A beautiful and reserved young lady stood at the door.

She clearly knew the purpose of this dinner, and upon seeing Jiang Ye’s features, a hint of shyness crossed her face.

Seeing this, Jiang Ye understood immediately.

He abruptly stood up, his sharp gaze sweeping over his so-called biological parents, “My affairs are none of your business!”

Mr. Jiang was so furious that his eyes turned red and his neck swelled, “If you’re so capable, don’t come begging me in the future!”

Jiang Ye didn’t pause for a moment, pulling me along as he left the room without looking back.

No one noticed-

In the far corner, Ms. Zheng’s face turned pale the moment she saw Jiang Ye holding my hand.
