From Dog to Goddess: My CEO Ex's Afterlife Regret - Chapter 7
As expected, I was delayed by Meng Yichen!
I took a slight detour to drop off my luggage on the way to work, and ended up being late.
Of all days, there was a meeting with the client scheduled for the morning. As soon as I arrived at the office, the producer pulled me aside for a scolding.
“What’s going on with you? You’ve been late several times this month. I understand that those of us in the arts aren’t the most punctual, but could you at least be on time when meeting clients? You messed up last month’s advertisement, and I don’t want another disaster this month.”
I quickly nodded and admitted my fault, obediently agreeing.
The previous times I was late were because I was making breakfast for Meng Yichen.
During the last advertisement shoot, I was distracted because Meng Yichen had criticized me again, resulting in missing several important shots. The storyline ended up being choppy, and we could only barely make it into an avant-garde style.
But an avant-garde style doesn’t quite suit a chicken essence brand.
Just like my real-life job, Miranda graduated from a media and film program in the United States and has returned to China to work as an advertising director.
I tiptoed into the meeting room, where the clients had already started discussing their requirements.
This time, the shoot was for a kitchenware brand that wanted to showcase all their products comprehensively but hoped for something different from traditional kitchenware ads. They preferred a vertical format that could be played on short video platforms.
The creative team was also present, listening as the brand finished speaking, and then it was their turn to propose ideas.
Unfortunately, the brand was dissatisfied with the proposals, finding them uninspired and over budget.
At this moment, I suddenly spoke up, “Has anyone seen the promotional videos within short videos?”
Several women in the room nodded.
“I think we can adapt this format, imitate it,” I continued.
A fair-skinned, handsome man with an ascetic demeanor leaned back in his chair, his gaze fixed on me, “Explain further.”
“In short videos, content that holds viewers’ attention often includes promotional videos, movie explanations, game reviews, and educational videos.
“In promotional videos, since they only contain text, they often use background footage like food, relaxing videos, and most commonly, cooking videos.
“We can borrow this model, replace the background footage with videos of your kitchenware in use, and change the text to content related to your products.”
After I finished speaking, my best friend, also Bai Yashu’s best friend, Gu Xinyi, quietly applauded me from the audience.
“Creative idea, but this type of video tends to be female-oriented. Our company values gender equality and doesn’t want kitchenware to target only the female market,” the ascetic man spoke, his voice cold yet surprisingly pleasant, “Nowadays, cooking at home shouldn’t be exclusive to women.”
“You’re absolutely right. There are female-oriented promotional videos and male-oriented ones too. We can adjust the text to better suit male audiences,” I nodded, quickly adjusting my thoughts and adding, “Actually, this advertisement doesn’t have to be limited to short video platforms; it can be adapted for other platforms too.
“Different platforms have varying gender user ratios, so we can slightly modify these videos to also be suitable for horizontal platforms with a higher male user ratio.”
…
The meeting soon concluded.
As I was packing up my computer, the producer led the ascetic man over to me.
“Miranda, this is the brand’s marketing director, Qin Li.”
I extended my hand to him, “Hello, I’m Miranda.”
He shook my hand, “Hello. Are you a foreigner?”
This is a question everyone asks the first time they meet me, given my striking appearance.
“No, my father is mixed-race, so I have some Caucasian genes.”
“Then what’s your Chinese name?”
“It’s just Miranda. ‘Mi’ is my mother’s surname, and my English name is Miranda.”
“Haha, that’s an interesting name,” Qin Li laughed, breaking his previous poker face.
“Thank you for the compliment.”
Hmm, why does this feel a bit slick?
