From Dog to Goddess: My CEO Ex's Afterlife Regret - Chapter 11
After getting into the car, I realized that the person who came wasn’t Gu Xinyi, but Qin Li.
Seeing my shocked expression, Qin Li had to explain, “Sorry, Miss Miranda, I asked Gu Xinyi to give me your address.”
Oh, Gu Xinyi, how could you betray me like this?
“It’s quite far from here, really sorry to trouble you,” I said with a polite smile.
“No worries, I happen to live nearby,” Qin Li replied, his gaze unintentionally sweeping past the window where Meng Yichen was still standing, and casually asked, “Is that the one from the Meng Family? What’s your relationship with him?”
“Oh, you know him?”
“Our families had some interactions when we were young, but now we’re just acquaintances.”
I then briefly explained my connection with the Meng Family.
“I see, glad it’s not what I thought,” Qin Li said, visibly relieved.
The implication in his words made me pause slightly, and I just smiled subtly, unsure how to respond.
Sensing the subtle atmosphere, Qin Li naturally changed the subject, “I heard Miss Miranda also studied in the U.S.”
“Yes, I did my undergraduate in New York.”
“What a coincidence, I did my master’s in Boston, not too far, both on the East Coast.”
And so, Qin Li and I chatted intermittently along the way.
