From Dog to Goddess: My CEO Ex's Afterlife Regret - Chapter 12
When the car pulled up in front of my apartment building, I took the initiative to express my gratitude, “Thank you so much for today.”
Qin Li smiled and said, “Aren’t you going to invite me up for a cup of tea?”
“I don’t have any tea at home, only tap water. I’ll definitely treat you to a meal next time.”
“No need to treat me to a meal, but I do have a request.”
“What request?” My hand paused on the seatbelt.
“I really like Miss Miranda and would like to spend more time with you. I hope you won’t avoid me.”
His voice was calm, but the redness at the tips of his ears betrayed him.
I replied seriously, “Mr. Qin, we don’t know each other very well yet. Besides, I’ve just climbed out of a deep, unrequited love and don’t want to fall into another abyss.”
He seemed a bit disappointed but remained persistent, his voice low yet earnest, “We can take the American approach–go on a few dates, get to know each other better, and then decide if we want to be together.”
With the conversation reaching this point, it was hard for me to refuse, especially since he had indeed helped me a lot today.
After hesitating for a moment, I finally nodded gently.
“Alright.”
