Forbidden Tenderness - Chapter 13
About half a month had passed.
I received news about Ying Chen again, through an old friend.
“Ying Chen got beaten up.”
She sent me a few photos, her tone incredulous: “Just returned to the country and already offended some tough guy. I told you, his unchanged way of doing things over the years would get him socially punished. Tsk tsk, what a pity.”
I opened the photos.
On the hospital bed, Ying Chen’s face was wrapped in bandages, and one leg was in a cast.
His mouth seemed to be split, unable to speak, clearly beaten badly.
“Looks like he was beaten mercilessly.”
My old friend whispered, “And he’s been in the hospital for half a month. The only flamboyant thing he seems to have done since returning is chasing you, right? Could it be your husband?”
After saying that, she denied it herself: “Unrealistic, just your family’s cowardly blind man, wasn’t he the one who was made to cry by Ying Chen last time? How could he possibly do such a thing?”
I nodded in agreement.
Jiang Mo is so gentle, how could it be him?
But then, a flash crossed my mind, the night half a month ago when he didn’t come back for a long time.
He kissed me urgently, raising his hand to take off his clothes first.
Thrown on the floor, gone by the next day.
So I fell into contemplation.
“Hello ma’am, these are from the gentleman at the next table.”
The waiter brought over two cocktails.
I looked up, only to see two young men at the next table nodding at me.
Seeing this, my old friend said again:
“Hey, speaking of which, your charm hasn’t diminished over the years. Now you’re so alluring, your blind husband doesn’t match up to you, aren’t you worried?”
“And at home he’s a dutiful husband, giving you all the company assets, not afraid you’ll sell him off or run away. His heart is really big.”
I didn’t know.
I just shook my head and said, “I’m not that kind of person, and besides, I feel he doesn’t love me.”
“Hey, let me joke around. Why don’t you deliberately find a young man to provoke him, then you’ll know.”
Very silly.
But, probably due to the alcohol.
I accepted those two drinks and gave my contact information.
“I left my phone, going to the restroom.”
I left the table.
This place was a bit large, and while looking for the restroom, I wandered around. By the time I came out, some time had passed.
“Bang–”
The sound of a door slamming startled me.
This area was near the fire exit, not many people around.
I approached and saw a small window on the door.
Then, I saw those two young men who had hit on me.
Myself, Jiang Mo’s tall figure, and his frighteningly cold profile.
