Chapter 11
During my middle school years, I loved to have fun.
In those early years of dating Ying Chen, we would travel everywhere during the holidays.
Although I’ve long since deleted all the photos and my heart has settled down, Jiang Mo inevitably knows and feels self-conscious because of his eyes.
Ying Chen’s explanation was like this:
“I didn’t say much, just mentioned how we used to go out often.”
“Your husband has a fragile heart; can’t he be a bit more resilient?”
“And I am your first love, doesn’t he have a first love too? What’s he pretending?”
I blocked him.
But his words did remind me of something.
Indeed, when I married Jiang Mo, he was already twenty-six, surely he had a first love too.
So, he wouldn’t hold a grudge against Ying Chen.
Yet, thinking about this, I felt a bit sour inside.
“Qi.”
Jiang Mo came in, carrying a plate of fruit.
He was dressed in all black today.
I raised an eyebrow: “It’s a dark and windy night, dressed like that, are you up to some mischief?”
Jiang Mo laughed: “Are you referring to something with you, Qi?”
My gaze fell on the grapes in the plate.
My face flushed instantly: “Pervert!”
He set the fruit down.
“You carry on, Qi. I need to do my eye exercises for today.”
I still had work-related tasks on my computer.
Jiang Mo could only do things like bringing fruit.
My heart softened again, and I stopped him:
“You don’t have to be so obedient, I shouldn’t have lied to you about Ying Chen, I’m sorry.”
“Someday when I have time, I’ll tell you in detail, and you can tell me about your first love.”
Jiang Mo seemed a bit surprised.
Then he nodded: “Alright.”
He left.
But I felt even more uneasy.
So Jiang Mo really did have a first love.
And he had never mentioned her to me.
Does that mean she is someone he cherishes so much that he wouldn’t easily bring her up?
