Chapter 10
“Ying Chen!”
I rushed into the lounge.
But the scene before me left me stunned.
There sat my usually silent and gentle husband, on the sofa, eyes red, tears at the corners, looking utterly bullied.
In contrast, Ying Chen.
“Qi, is your husband crazy?”
He was so anxious he seemed about to jump up, “I really didn’t do anything, I just said a few words, and he started on his own.”
“Ying Chen!”
My tone was heavy, “Don’t I know what kind of person you are? What nonsense did you say again? Can you watch your mouth!”
“No, you!”
“It’s okay, Qi, blame me,” Jiang Mo spoke up, “Indeed… he just mentioned some things from your past, and my eyes can’t see, I really hold you back, can’t accompany you everywhere, do what you want…”
After hearing this, I was even more furious.
I grabbed Ying Chen and said in a voice both soft and sharp, “Are you crazy! What nonsense are you both talking about!”
“Just our high school days, the past, how come, doesn’t he know I’m your old flame?”
Ying Chen was indignant, “And isn’t it true that he’s blind? I’m not his wife, why should I comfort him?”
That was it.
I was livid, yet didn’t dare turn to look at Jiang Mo.
I could only pinch Ying Chen hard and say, “Get out, get far away, and never appear before me again!”
But Jiang Mo caught my hand at that moment.
Gently removed my hand.
He said softly, “It’s okay, Qi, he is right, not everyone is like you.”
His vacant eyes seemed to reflect a comforting smile.
Then, he gently stood up, “I’m causing trouble here, I should go back, being obedient is good. Don’t argue with your friend because of me, Qi.”
Jiang Mo seemed to understand and forgive even when offended.
Looking pitifully endearing.
“You!”
Ying Chen pointed at Jiang Mo, “You” for a long time.
Finally, he flung his hand, turned around, and stormed off, leaving only a sentence:
“Take care of yourself!”
I ignored him, quickly pulling my poor husband into my arms, feeling both anxious and heartbroken.
“Jiang Mo, you don’t have to be so understanding, having a temper means you won’t be bullied.” I sighed.
“Qi, you said you like obedient ones.”
Jiang Mo gently argued, “Besides, it’s just a first love, I’m not that narrow-minded, I know you love me now.”
I felt even more guilty.
I comforted him, “Sorry, I shouldn’t have lied to you.”
Then he continued, “If one day I stop being obedient, will you abandon me?”
“No.” I answered without thinking.
Unaware, Jiang Mo’s lips curled slightly.
He rubbed his eyes, adjusting the black contact lenses that almost slipped out.
But only for a moment.
His eyes were already filled with the pride of a victor and a deeper shadow.
