Falling for the Best Man, A Second Chance at Love - Chapter 7
I was stunned for a moment. Slowly, I looked up and saw Sheng Moyang’s ostentatious face.
If, at this very moment, someone handed me a list of people I least wanted to see-
Sheng Moyang would certainly be among the top three.
After all, he was Gu Huaichen’s close friend.
The founder of the well-known tea beverage company, Lan Cha.
Our biggest business rival.
When he secured a hundred million in Series A funding at the age of twenty-two, Gu Huaichen and I were still worrying about making payroll for our employees.
I hurriedly hid the documents in my hand behind my back.
These were all crucial materials for the brand I was planning to start.
Both publicly and privately, I didn’t want to run into him right now.
Pretending not to see him, I bent down to keep picking things up.
He yanked me up forcefully, shoved the umbrella into my hand.
The man in a tailored suit crouched down, efficiently gathering the rest of the papers for me.
Then, without regard for my wishes, he pulled me into the car.
He took off his suit jacket and draped it over my shoulders.
He frowned and asked, “What happened?”
Seeing that I remained silent, he started the car and drove forward.
“I’ll take you home first.”
Only then did I look up. “No need. I’ve divorced Gu Huaichen. I’ve already moved out.”
The car screeched to a halt at the traffic light.
He stared at me without blinking.
“You don’t need to drive your good brother’s ex-wife home. Just let me out at the next intersection.”
