Everyone Says I Ride on the Movie King's Fame, Only the Movie King Knows I'm His Creditor - Chapter 6
Chapter 6
Shen Yan started a livestream.
No announcement.
No filter.
He sat in a hospital room, gauze wrapped around his left hand, his phone in his right.
Within three minutes, the livestream had over a million viewers.
The comments were flying by too fast to read.
He didn’t make small talk.
His first sentence was:
“I’m doing this livestream today to apologize to Jiang Tang.”
I sat outside the camera’s frame, my heart pounding.
Sister Chen sat beside me and whispered, “His manager is going to lose his mind.”
I said, “Don’t laugh yet. His company’s legal department is going to lose it too.”
Shen Yan continued, “Seven years ago, I was hospitalized with acute pneumonia. Jiang Tang paid my medical bills for me.”
“Later, after I signed with Shengxing, my manager, Qin Yue, contacted Jiang Tang privately without my consent and gave her a check for fifty thousand yuan, demanding that she never appear in front of me again.”
The comments exploded.
[Qin Yue? That golden manager from Shengxing?]
[Without his consent? Is this for real?]
Shen Yan played the recording.
Qin Yue’s younger-sounding voice came from the phone.
“Miss Jiang, I’ve seen plenty of people like you. You lend someone a little money and think you can cash it in for a favor? It’s ugly.”
“Shen Yan is just getting his start. He can’t have a past like you attached to him.”
“Fifty thousand. That’s enough to cover the principal and interest.”
“Don’t come looking for him again.”
The recording ended.
For a brief moment, the livestream’s comment section went blank.
Then the screen filled with curses.
Not at me.
At Qin Yue.
Shen Yan lifted his eyes and looked into the camera.
“I found out about this far too late.”
“But being late isn’t an excuse.”
“Every day Jiang Tang was insulted, I bore responsibility for it.”
“She was not clout-chasing.”
He paused.
“Seven years ago, I almost died on the roadside. She saved me.”
“Seven years later, I’m the one who wants to get close to her again.”
The comments froze.
Sister Chen sucked in a sharp breath.
I froze too.
But Shen Yan looked as if he had finally said something he’d been hiding for a very long time.
“She doesn’t owe me any explanation.”
“I’m the one who owes her.”
Before the livestream even ended, calls from Shengxing were already blowing up his phone.
Shen Yan didn’t answer a single one.
At the end, he said:
“I’ve already called the police about what happened tonight.”
“Anyone who hurts others in the name of liking me is not my fan.”
The livestream cut off.
The hospital room fell so quiet that only the beeping of the machines remained.
Shen Yan turned to look at me.
“Was that okay?”
I asked, “Was what okay?”
“Repaying you like this.”
I looked at the gauze on the back of his hand.
“Not exactly the smartest way to do it.”
He lowered his eyes.
“Mm.”
I said, “But I’ll give you points for sincerity.”
A faint light came into his eyes.
Just like seven years ago, when I shoved the hospital payment slip into his hands and he looked up at me.
