Everyone Says I Ride on the Movie King's Fame, Only the Movie King Knows I'm His Creditor - Chapter 5
Chapter 5
At the hospital, the back of Shen Yan’s hand was red over a large patch.
The doctor said it was lucky the liquid hadn’t been highly corrosive. It was only an irritant burn.
I stood beside him, my fingers ice-cold.
Shen Yan actually turned around and comforted me.
“It’s fine.”
I looked at his hand.
“Shut up.”
And he did.
When Sister Chen arrived at the hospital, her expression was grim.
“That girl is one of Shen Yan’s fans. She’s underage.”
Shen Yan looked up.
“Call the police.”
Sister Chen froze.
“Are you sure?”
His voice was very cold.
“I’m sure.”
I looked at him.
“Your fans will curse you out.”
“Then let them.”
He said, “She hurt someone.”
In that moment, he suddenly felt a little unfamiliar to me.
The Shen Yan from before had actually been terrified of causing trouble for anyone.
He would swallow down every grievance, as if he owed the entire world something.
Now, sitting beneath the white lights of the hospital with gauze wrapped around the back of his hand, he finally looked like an adult.
Someone who knew certain things couldn’t be brushed over with a simple “but she’s just a young fan.”
The people from Shengxing arrived quickly.
Qin Yue walked into the ward. The first person he looked at was me, and his gaze was even colder than it had been seven years ago.
“Miss Jiang, how is it that you always manage to get Shen Yan into trouble?”
Shen Yan stood up.
“Qin Yue.”
Qin Yue looked at him.
“Do you still think today’s mess isn’t big enough?”
“It’s big enough.”
Shen Yan said, “That’s why we’re calling the police.”
Qin Yue frowned.
“She’s an underage fan. If this isn’t handled properly, the backlash will hit you.”
“That’s for her parents and the police to deal with. It is not something Jiang Tang should have to pay for by getting a bottle of cleaning solution thrown at her.”
Qin Yue sneered.
“Shen Yan, acting so tough now-are you planning to fall out with the company completely?”
Shen Yan looked at him.
“I should have done that seven years ago.”
Qin Yue’s expression shifted slightly.
Standing off to the side, I suddenly laughed.
Qin Yue turned to me.
“Miss Jiang, what are you laughing at?”
I said, “At how old you’ve gotten.”
“Seven years ago, you could still humiliate me with fifty thousand yuan.”
“Now all you can do is scare people with talk of fan backlash?”
Qin Yue narrowed his eyes.
“What do you have?”
I didn’t answer.
But Shen Yan looked at me.
“You have something?”
I said, “I do.”
“What?”
“A recording of what Agent Qin said seven years ago.”
The ward fell silent.
Qin Yue’s expression changed completely.
“Jiang Tang, don’t you dare.”
I looked at him.
“Why don’t you guess whether I dare or not?”
Shen Yan suddenly spoke.
“Send it to me.”
I looked at him.
His voice was very steady.
“This time, I’ll be the one to post it.”
