Doll Survival Game - Chapter 43 - Lin Na's Last Day (Part 5)
Who was that person…?
Luo Yiran frowned, instinctively wanting to twirl his index finger, but remembering he was playing a human, he settled for tapping his fingernail instead. Among these people, the one who ran away from the classroom door was most likely Lin Na. If it was Lin Na, his prank on her made sense.
Just as Luo Yiran finished his thought, Lin Luo suddenly wrapped his arms around him, his palm resting on his back, thumb gently rubbing the top of his hair. “Ranran, so now we…”
Lin Luo was a bit shy, his expression was fine, but his eyes were bright, as if he was looking at something he really liked, making him incredibly happy.
Luo Yiran: “…”
Luo Yiran avoided Lin Luo’s gaze, turning his head slightly, and said discreetly, “It’s enough that we know.”
The current time was a little past one in the morning, and there were twenty-three hours left until it was over. The doll thought numbly.
“Lin Luo, could you get my backpack for me?”
He couldn’t let the magician continue with his bizarre plot development, so Luo Yiran blinked at Lin Luo, making a request.
Lin Luo happily brought the backpack to Luo Yiran, then thoughtfully unzipped it for him, saying, “I’ll go shower first, then I’ll help you wash.”
Luo Yiran instinctively wanted to refuse, but then he paused-he almost forgot his leg was injured, and he definitely couldn’t shower alone.
Lin Luo seemed either shy or afraid of rejection, and after speaking, he took a new set of clothes and went to shower.
Luo Yiran was silent for a while, then with a wooden expression, he dragged his body to open a corner of the backpack.
His leg was set to be injured, so the doll used his hands to slowly move himself, and after a while, he finally managed to pull out a light green envelope from the backpack.
It was the most conspicuous thing in the backpack, and after flipping through it twice, Luo Yiran noticed it.
Except-
The doll stared at the red heart sticker sealing the envelope, lost in thought-could this be meant for Lin Luo?
But when he flipped the envelope over, he saw a string of elegant small letters at the bottom-For Lin Na.
Luo Yiran: “…?”
For Lin Na? Wasn’t he supposed to like Lin Luo?
What kind of person was he? Luo Yiran was a bit bewildered.
On the second floor.
In a room where white and pink blended harmoniously, Via planned to shower first. Before leaving, he accidentally bumped into the table, causing books and notebooks to fall.
He exclaimed softly.
Xia Lang snapped back to reality and hurried over to ask if he was okay.
Via looked at Xia Lang; honestly, whether before or now, Xia Lang never gave him a good feeling.
Back when they met in Fairy Tale Forest, Xia Lang’s innocent demeanor was still fresh in his mind. Although he eventually threatened him with a silver thread, Via felt Xia Lang was still scared on his back. Via once thought even if he abandoned him and ran, Xia Lang wouldn’t dare to act against him.
Until Xia Lang became the head of the fourth faction in Water City.
Though Luo Yiran was certainly behind the scenes, Via still occasionally wondered if Xia Lang was pretending to be weak to catch him off guard, but-
Via looked at Xia Lang now.
Xia Lang’s acting was really poor. Despite trying to fit the character, his performance was so bad Via could easily see something was wrong with him.
This unease seemed to be Xia Lang’s own issue, as if he saw something disgusting or had his tail stepped on, creating a sense of impending anger.
But in this instance, he couldn’t just lose his temper.
Via shook his head, saying, “It’s nothing, just bumped into it accidentally.”
Then he picked up the books and notebooks from the floor and handed them to Xia Lang, “No school tomorrow, put these away.”
“By the way, the entertainment room on the third floor isn’t fully set up yet. Be careful when you go there tomorrow.”
He subtly reminded Xia Lang to check the notebook or look through his things, and hinted about the entertainment room on the third floor, as Via wasn’t sure if Xia Lang knew he planned to go there with Lin Na and others tomorrow.
Xia Lang was stunned, then watched the curly-haired young man go to the bathroom. He looked down at the thick notebook in his hand.
-He knew this was his diary.
Xia Lang pressed his temple slightly; so far, he had recalled three memories.
The first was this notebook, his diary.
The second was when he went out of character, recalling a time he had a face allergy and cursed in the school bathroom.
The third was when he found Zhang Mimi and others, inviting them to celebrate Lin Na’s birthday, but the tone and atmosphere were too strange, as if mocking something.
These three memories led Xia Lang to a bad suspicion.
He looked down at the diary, took a deep breath, and slowly opened it. On the first page, the first line read-[Why does Lin Na look and dress so cheaply and disgustingly? She’s such an unnecessary person.]
Xia Lang trembled, his eyes wide with horror, quickly flipping through a few pages, then stopping at a section that read: [She saw it. But it’s okay, I won’t let her have a chance to laugh at me.]
“…” Xia Lang breathed heavily, unable to believe the diary’s contents, then silently flipped further.
His own past memories surfaced, making Xia Lang even less able to accept what was written in the diary.
He sat alone, staring at the diary, tears threatening to fall but he held them back.
When Via came out, Xia Lang had already put the notebook away and lay down, curled up under the blanket, motionless.
Via thought he was asleep, so he turned off the light and went to sleep.
…
“Mom, wake up.” A gentle voice sounded in his ear, and Via instantly opened his eyes, sitting up to look at the source.
Outside, the sun was shining brightly, and Xia Lang stood by the bed in a casual blue dress, smiling warmly, calling out to Via.
Via: “…?”
Via looked at Xia Lang, whose gestures inexplicably carried a sense of warmth, almost reflexively shouting: Xia Lang, what’s wrong?!
But he held back, dazed for a moment before looking at Xia Lang, “You woke up so early?”
Xia Lang chuckled softly, sitting by the mirror, gracefully brushing his hair and applying makeup, his voice sweetly playful, “It’s second sister’s birthday today, getting up early to take her out to play. She hasn’t seen the entertainment room yet.”
Via was stunned, and after a while, he realized something, quickly getting out of bed.
“Where’s mom going?” Xia Lang turned, eyes wide, “You haven’t changed clothes yet?”
Via forced a smile, “Just going back to the room to get a new set.”
“Okay.” Xia Lang pouted slightly, “You go then.”
Via maintained a smile as he slowly left, but once the door closed, he quickly went to find Li Qi Feng-crazy, crazy! Why did it feel like Xia Lang was being assimilated?!
What happened while he was asleep last night?
No, if Xia Lang did something, he should have woken up!
Oh, heaven help, don’t let uncle be assimilated!
“Why are you rushing, aunt?” A familiar voice sounded nearby.
Via quickly recognized it as the doll’s voice, so he immediately turned-
Lin Luo was holding the doll at their room door, looking like they had just come out.
Lin Luo looked at him, blurting out, “Mom, your slippers are on the wrong feet…”
“How strange, you’re never this disheveled.”
Come on, wearing slippers on the wrong feet isn’t disheveled, is this mom a neat freak?
Via cursed inwardly, glancing at the doll out of the corner of his eye. The doll’s gaze was clear, with a hint of curiosity.
He couldn’t tell if the doll was assimilated, but Lin Luo definitely was, so naturally calling him mom was problematic!
Via looked at Lin Luo’s increasingly puzzled gaze, feeling anxious, sensing he was about to receive an out-of-character warning, but the doll suddenly spoke: “Did aunt have a nightmare?”
Via reacted quickly, promptly replying, “Yes, the nightmare felt too real… I’m a bit scared…”
“Then go find dad.” Lin Luo shrugged, “Just talk to dad properly, no matter how much you argue, you won’t divorce, why be so stubborn.”
Via: “…”
Via himself didn’t fully understand his situation with Li Qi Feng, so he could only nod silently.
Just as he was about to leave, Via remembered Xia Lang’s odd behavior, so he quickly turned to the doll: “You’re going to the entertainment room on the third floor today, right? Xia Lang rarely puts on makeup, he seems really excited… Take care of him, don’t let him have a bad time.”
The doll blinked.
Via finished his instructions and turned to leave-was his hint clear enough? Even if not, he tried his best!
Heaven knows how confused he was being woken up by this Xia Lang, if not for the doll’s reminder, he would have gone out of character!
Via left, Luo Yiran’s expression unchanged, but Lin Luo muttered, “Only cares about his sister.”
The doll glanced at Lin Luo, his expression unchanged as he comforted, “It’s okay, I care about you.”
Lin Luo happily extended his finger to rub the doll’s head.
The doll maintained a smile-Lin Luo’s actions were too natural, he now suspected the magician had left after teasing him, and this was the real Lin Na’s brother.
Mainly, he was always good at reading people, but this morning he couldn’t tell if Lin Luo was still the magician.
But it didn’t matter, if it was the magician, it would be annoying, if not, it would be easier, but overall Lin Luo’s character was unlikely to harm him, so Luo Yiran was more concerned about the hints Via had given him.
He couldn’t say for sure, but Xia Lang was definitely in trouble.
Unfortunately, he had no reason to knock on Xia Lang’s room door, so Luo Yiran could only be carried downstairs by Lin Luo.
The morning sun was bright, and he could see the fence outside. Luo Yiran looked out the window, noticing the aunt watering flowers.
He watched the aunt walk back and forth until she stopped in confusion at one spot.
The doll watched for a while, then his expression changed.
Lin Luo didn’t look outside, he was busy being affectionate with Luo Yiran, occasionally touching his hair or pinching his arm, acting like someone in love.
Luo Yiran grabbed Lin Luo’s wandering fingers.
Lin Luo lowered his head, “Ranran, what’s wrong?”
Luo Yiran showed an uncertain expression, “What’s aunt doing?”
Lin Luo was stunned, he turned to look out the window, seeing the aunt standing at the fence gate, patting the air.
Lin Luo was also confused, raising his voice to shout, “Aunt!”
The aunt turned, her eyes showing confusion and fear.
Lin Luo squinted, “What are you doing?”
The aunt trembled, pointing at the air in front of her, “Can’t… can’t get through!”
“Something’s blocking here!”
