Disguised as a Man, She Has Eight Men Fighting Over Her - Chapter 56
Chapter 56
*Buzz.*
Xie Zhi’s name appeared on the screen.
Shen Qingrang chuckled against her back, the vibration making her tingle.
“Little Chen.”
His lips brushed her nape.
“Open it.”
The command was impossibly gentle and impossible to refuse.
“Be good.”
Lin Cheng grew angry. She respected Shen Qingrang, but even if she were gay and fooling around with a teammate, he had no right to invade her privacy.
She struggled, driving an elbow backward.
“Brother Qingrang, don’t. I—”
“Tian Cheng.”
*What?*
The forgotten name erased every thought.
How did he know it?
Feeling her turn to stone, Shen Qingrang sighed ambiguously.
“You’re not behaving.”
He opened the message. Lin Cheng looked at the light—then his tobacco-scented palm covered her eyes.
But she had seen Xie Zhi’s abdominal photo.
Shen Qingrang read the accompanying lines without emotion.
“Shy?”
“Do you like it?”
“I took it especially for you.”
Beneath his palm, Lin Cheng frowned.
“What do you want? And how do you know my name?”
He did not answer. Leaning closer, he asked quietly, “Is that the kind you like?”
Shen Qingrang had never believed himself good. The love and fever of youth had only grown after their reunion. Like a parched man finding a stream, one stolen drink made it impossible to keep walking beside the water without drinking again.
Her lashes tickled his palm.
“None of your business, Shen Qingrang.”
He laughed softly, removed his glasses, and tossed them aside. Without the lenses, the emotion in his eyes was almost scorching.
Lin Cheng tried to slip away, but he hauled her back and easily captured both wrists in one hand.
“You like that kind?” he repeated.
“Answer me.”
Lin Cheng bit the inside of his muscular arm.
“Shen Qingrang, are you insane?”
His breathing did not change.
“Qin Rang,” he corrected gently.
“Call me Qin Rang, good girl.”
Qin Rang…
Her teeth loosened. A chubby boy flashed through memory—a woven-grass ring, a cat, and a farewell never spoken.
There had been something else. A promise?
*Chengcheng wants to stay with Brother Qin Rang.*
She tried to turn and see his mature face, but he buried it in her neck.
“Are you… really Qin Rang?”
“Mm.” His nose brushed her nape.
“Can you answer now, good girl? Do you like men like him?”
“I—”
“Forget it.” He interrupted, craving and fearing the answer.
“Chengcheng is a bad child now.”
He lightly took her earlobe between his lips. She shuddered, and he laughed.
“Good girl, why are you trembling?”
“Qin Rang!” she cried, struggling. “Get up! Xie Zhi and I—”
His warm palm covered her mouth, the ring caught partly between her lips.
“Shh.”
A door opened. Slippers approached the living room.
Shen Qingrang pressed her flat against the sofa, fingertips sliding along her spine.
“Don’t make a sound. Someone will discover us.”
Water poured nearby. Fine kisses traveled from behind her ear to her shoulder and neck. Lin Cheng hardly dared breathe.
At some point, the ring against her lips became a warm finger touching the tip of her damp tongue.
“Do you like me kissing you this way, good girl?” he asked hoarsely.
Someone swallowed water nearby.
So close.
Every sense sharpened beneath tension and shame: her pounding heart, his finger, pine scent mingling with her own. Through a gap in the sofa, she saw a long shadow across the floor.
“Distracted?”
*Smack.*
The light slap against her bottom sounded startlingly loud.
The shadow stopped.
A glass touched marble.
“Who’s there?”
One word identified him.
Jiang Si.
“Good girl, your heart is racing.”
“Your ears are burning.”
“Don’t want him to see?”
Shen Qingrang moved the hand from her lips to grip her jaw, his fingers cool with her saliva.
He turned her face toward his, breathing against her mouth.
“Why won’t you answer a single question, bad child?”
Jiang Si’s footsteps drew closer.
“Anyone there?”
