Tang Jie checked Wang Qianya’s breathing with both hands, and his heart sank. He quickly grabbed her pulse, frowning tightly as a burning pain filled his chest.
“No, no, no.” Tang Jie held Wang Qianya’s body tightly, ignoring the distinction between male and female at this moment.
“Tang… Tang Jie.” Wang Qianya’s weak voice rang out.
“Don’t talk.” Tang Jie looked at Wang Qianya, who was smiling faintly, and his anxiety deepened.
“No, I want to say something.”
“Tang Jie, you are not one of my Wang Family. I feel terrible for getting you into this trouble.”
“No, it’s not trouble.” Tang Jie felt truly guilty because Wang Qianya had taken the deadly blow for him. He silently vowed to heal her wounds.
Chen Yin slowly approached the two but did not make a move; he simply watched as if it were a show.
“Tang Jie, I have already fallen for you…” “Pff.” Before Wang Qianya could finish, blood suddenly gushed from her mouth, and the second half of her sentence was stuck deep in her throat.
“No, you mustn’t speak. Just hold on.”
Tang Jie gently lowered Wang Qianya and stood up slowly, making his way toward Chen Yin while Wang Qianya, having lost consciousness, lay still on the ground.
“What’s the matter? Do you want to kill me? Such arrogance.” Chen Yin smiled slightly, waving the green sword in his hand.
Tang Jie maintained a cold expression, not rushing to answer Chen Yin’s question. Instead, he looked mournfully at Wang Qianya on the ground, a feeling of uncontrollable anger buried deep in his heart, like a heavy hammer pressing down on him. He wanted to break free, to throw that weight high into the air.
Tang Jie clenched his fists tightly, the joints cracking loudly. He still stood, but he was already cloaked in an immense, boundless fury.
“Ah!” Tang Jie roared into the sky, his presence soaring as if flames were rapidly heading towards Chen Yin.
After this shout, Tang Jie felt much more relieved, yet the anger in his heart had not fully dissipated. He felt his body brimming with power, as if he were a demon god.
Suddenly, Tang Jie swept his hands, and the sky-turning needle in his grip coalesced in just half a second. However, consumed by rage, Tang Jie didn’t even notice this change; he just continued to fling the sky-turning needle into the distance.
Chen Yin was shocked. No matter how strong he was, facing the storm-like attack of the sky-turning needle, there was no way to evade it. In a moment of utter frustration, Chen Yin was finally struck by Tang Jie’s sky-turning needle.
“Pff.” A mouthful of bright red blood splattered everywhere, and Chen Yin looked at Tang Jie in shock, blood staining his lips.
Tang Jie had completely lost his sense of reason. As long as he could see Chen Yin still moving, the sky-turning needle in his hand would continuously shoot towards him. Finally, with a long, mournful cry from Chen Yin, the sky-turning needle flew past his throat with a sharp whistle.
As Chen Yin fell, Tang Jie suddenly felt his strength drain away. It was only when he regained his consciousness and composure that he realized he had just made a breakthrough in the battle; he was now a Heaven-Man Realm master. Tang Jie felt both joy and sorrow at this revelation.
He was joyful that he had finally broken through, but sorrowful as he wondered how much longer Wang Qianya had to live.
Tang Jie no longer hesitated. Ignoring the wounded Chen Yin, he looked toward Wang Qianya and sprinted to her side.
With a loud kick, he burst through the door and suddenly appeared in an ordinary wooden house in the woods-this was where he had grown up.
However, upon entering, Tang Jie did not see his master, and his heart sank with anxiety.
He placed Wang Qianya on the bed and glanced at a letter on the table.
“No matter who you are, when you read this letter, I will have already set off on my travels. My old age is approaching, and I can no longer accompany you all. The world belongs to the young; we old folks must…”
Tang Jie slammed the letter down on the table, not wanting to read further. He glanced hopelessly at his master’s room, feeling helpless as he prepared to lift Wang Qianya again.
Just then, as he reached the bedside, he noticed a medical book under his master’s pillow.
Tang Jie clung to one last hope and frantically flipped through the table of contents. A name called “Returning Essence Concentration Pill” instantly caught his attention. He rushed to the page about the pill, scanned it, and then abruptly closed the book with a loud clap.
Tang Jie finally smiled, but in his eyes flashed a hint of red.
“Hey, is this Viper? I need your help right away. Find me the location of the Wang ancient martial arts family…” As he carried Wang Qianya, he spoke urgently into the phone.
On the other end of the line, Viper replied cheerfully. By the time Tang Jie reached the city center again, his phone rang.
“Hey, Tang Jie, I’ve found it! The headquarters of the Wang ancient martial arts family is in H City…”
“Click.” Tang Jie hung up the phone and stopped a taxi. After calculating the journey, he realized it would take several hours to drive from G City to H City. Feeling anxious, he quickly called Uncle Zhao.
“Uncle Zhao, I need to borrow your car…”
“Sure thing!” On the other end of the line, Uncle Zhao had barely finished speaking when he heard the sound of Tang Jie starting the engine. He hurriedly asked, “Tang, are you already in the car?”
“Yes, Uncle Zhao. I might be gone for a while, so please keep an eye on Miss Chen.”
“Where are you going…?” Uncle Zhao began to ask, but Tang Jie abruptly hung up, and the next hour turned into a high-speed drive.
“I am Wang Qianya’s father. What brings you here?” At that moment, Tang Jie found himself standing in a quaint villa that, while not overly luxurious, exuded an air of ancient charm.
In front of him stood a burly, strong middle-aged man with a square face.
“Uncle, I finally found you.” Tang Jie said as he backed away toward the car. Once the heavy iron gate opened, he drove the vehicle inside. When he got out, he was already holding Wang Qianya in his arms.
“You… Qianya?” The middle-aged man looked at Tang Jie, then at Wang Qianya in his arms, calling out in confusion.
This man was Wang Batian, Wang Qianya’s father and the head of the Wang family.
Tang Jie glanced at Wang Batian and continued walking straight toward the villa with Wang Qianya.
“What happened?” Wang Batian asked anxiously.
Tang Jie, feeling just as anxious, looked at Wang Batian and said, “Uncle, Miss Wang’s situation is quite serious. I’ll explain everything later.”
“Okay, okay, I’ll call a doctor right away.” Wang Batian said, preparing to leave, but Tang Jie grabbed his sleeve.
“Uncle, the doctor won’t be able to heal her injuries. You and I are both ancient martial artists; you should be able to tell she was hurt by another ancient martial artist, right?” As he spoke, Tang Jie quickly took out paper and pen from his pocket.
Wang Batian silently observed Wang Qianya’s face, then suddenly grabbed her hand to check her pulse. After a while, his brow furrowed deeply.
“Uncle, I’m not skilled, but if you can gather these medicinal herbs, I can save Miss Qianya’s life.”
“You?” Wang Batian scrutinized Tang Jie, slightly doubtful of this young man’s capability.
Tang Jie nodded, feeling a sense of urgency. “Uncle, you can trust me. I would never harm Miss Qianya. She transferred to our school, and we are desk mates. I’m helping her purely out of friendship!”
“Alright, I believe you.” Wang Batian nodded, albeit without a solid reason. He then exited the villa to gather the needed materials.
In the room, only Tang Jie remained. He kept checking Wang Qianya’s pulse, glancing toward the door repeatedly. After nearly three hours, seeing her pulse growing weaker and weaker, he realized that Wang Batian still had not returned.
Feeling desperate, Tang Jie propped Wang Qianya up and slowly channeled his heaven and earth spiritual energy into her body, surrounding her heart with the energy for protection.
“Young man.” Just as Tang Jie was pouring his energy into Wang Qianya, Wang Batian’s voice suddenly appeared in his ear.
Tang Jie opened his eyes wide, slightly retracting his hands.
“Uncle, you’re back! Did you gather the medicinal herbs?” He realized that asking these questions was somewhat pointless, as he had already expected the answer.
In fact, the medicinal potion Tang Jie had formulated was not particularly complex. For a family like the Wang family, which was rooted in ancient martial arts, these herbs should be easy to procure. Wang Batian’s arrival confirmed that he had managed to gather the materials.
Wang Batian looked at Tang Jie and placed a bag in front of him.
“Young man, what should I call you?” Wang Batian asked, observing Tang Jie as he sorted through the herbs.
“You can just call me Tang Jie, Uncle. Now, please get someone to prepare a charcoal furnace as quickly as possible.” Tang Jie spoke urgently, relieved that the herbs had been gathered.
Wang Batian nodded and waved to someone standing behind him. At that moment, Tang Jie noticed a few men and women standing behind Wang Batian.
Once the charcoal furnace was brought in, Tang Jie hurried into a secluded room to begin concocting the pill. Outside, a woman looked anxiously at Wang Qianya on the bed and said, “Batian, do you think this kid Tang Jie can really do it?”
“Don’t worry, my dear. I’ve made preparations on both fronts. I’ve also asked my third uncle to concoct a potion on the side,” Wang Batian reassured her.
“Then I’ll feel better.” Hearing this, Mrs. Wang relaxed, although she cast a compassionate glance at Wang Qianya.
Before long, Tang Jie emerged from the room holding a pill. He glanced at the concerned faces of Wang Batian and Mrs. Wang, then quickly walked to Wang Qianya’s side. He gently opened her mouth and placed the pill inside.
The entire process was witnessed by Mrs. Wang, who felt a mix of worry and doubt about Tang Jie. Yet, under Wang Batian’s watchful gaze, she did not intervene.
