Demonic King of the Metropolis - Chapter 67 - Condensation
In an instant, Tang Jie stood in place like a demon god, slowly swinging the earth-piercing needle in his hand as if he were bearing the weight of a thousand kilograms.
“Stop!” A piercing shout rang out, and Tang Jie was momentarily taken aback. It was his first time witnessing someone call for a halt during a fight. Ignoring the interruption, he continued to exert force, driving the needle forward.
“I know your master; stop now!”
“What? You know my master?” Tang Jie was ready to throw the needle, but the young man’s words caught him off guard, almost causing him to lose control.
Once Tang Jie finally retracted the needle, he was hit with a backlash of his own heaven and earth spiritual energy, causing a sharp pain in his heart.
“You know my master? Are you trying to deceive me out of fear of dying?”
“No, I do know your master. I once received his favor, and I witnessed him using this cultivation method firsthand.”
“Are you referring to the earth-piercing needle?” Tang Jie paused slightly, asking.
“Yes!” The young man nodded vigorously, the hatred in his eyes having quietly dissipated.
Tang Jie scrutinized him doubtfully for a while before finally asking, “What’s your name, then?”
“A name? I don’t know. I went by Viper when I was a killer, so I’ve just kept that name.” The young man glanced at Tang Jie before sitting down.
Tang Jie asked Viper about the usage of the earth-piercing needle, and found that everything Viper said was completely true. Thus, Tang Jie fully trusted this man, as Viper claimed to be a half-disciple of Tang Jie’s master, making him a kind of brother in arms.
The two had originally drawn their weapons against each other, but after a lively conversation, they surprisingly considered each other as brothers and even exchanged phone numbers!
Tang Jie was truly astonished by how quickly the situation had changed that night. He had been prepared to unleash a killing spree, but unexpectedly…
From Viper, Tang Jie learned about the Heaven-Man Realm, understanding that his current Innate Realm was merely the foundation for ancient martial artists, and that the realm beyond Innate was Heaven-Man Realm.
With this in mind, Tang Jie prepared to make another push for strength and break through to the Heaven-Man Realm.
After returning to the villa that night, Tang Jie fell into a deep sleep. With the threat of Viper eliminated, he could finally enjoy a good dream. Indeed, that night was the most restful sleep Tang Jie had experienced in years.
In the following days, Tang Jie and Chen Shuran coexisted peacefully. With his improved mood, Tang Jie surprisingly refrained from retaliating against Chen Shuran and Xiao Ran’s antics, which left Xiao Ran quite puzzled. She had thought that Tang Jie had been completely subdued by Chen Shuran.
Wang Qianya, Tang Jie’s deskmate, had also become much more talkative lately. It wasn’t just with Tang Jie; she interacted with both Chen Shuran and Xiao Ran as well.
The result of this was that Wang Qianya unexpectedly joined Chen Shuran’s girl squad, and together they plotted ways to mess with Tang Jie. He felt utterly helpless; while it was one thing for Chen Shuran to target him, Wang Qianya was a master at the Acquired Great Perfection level. If such a powerhouse were to target him, he would have to resort to martial arts to resolve the situation.
One day, having been toyed with by the three girls all morning, Tang Jie was suddenly jolted awake by a slap from Wang Qianya beside him.
“Do you have plans after school this afternoon?” Wang Qianya asked seriously, her gaze fixed on Tang Jie’s face.
Tang Jie, feeling confused, raised his head to see what seemed to be something written on her face.
“Uh, Miss Wang, what’s up?”
“It’s like this,” Wang Qianya replied as she leaned closer to Tang Jie’s ear.
A warm breath wafted from her lips and brushed against Tang Jie’s ear, making him shiver pleasantly.
“I can feel the heaven and earth spiritual energy, and I want you to help guide me.”
At these words, Tang Jie was taken aback and stared at Wang Qianya, marveling at her talent. Without a second thought, he nodded in agreement.
The bell signifying the end of classes rang on time that afternoon. Tang Jie first accompanied Chen Shuran home before hurriedly making his way to Wang Qianya’s apartment. When he arrived at the seemingly simple yet warm and inviting apartment, he wasted no time and rushed upstairs.
“Come in,” Wang Qianya’s voice called from inside before Tang Jie could even knock.
Furrowing his brow, he turned the door handle and stepped inside. Immediately, a delightful fragrance hit him, and he was greeted by a neatly arranged room and the sight of Wang Qianya, dressed simply but strikingly alluring.
The guidance of the heaven and earth spiritual energy had begun. The two sat opposite each other, their palms pressed together as they rubbed against each other repeatedly.
Tang Jie continuously absorbed the heaven and earth spiritual energy to help Wang Qianya become more aware of its existence. After a while, Wang Qianya indeed sensed the presence of the spiritual energy, just as Tang Jie had anticipated.
At that moment, Tang Jie was overjoyed. Unbeknownst to him, his body began to accelerate the absorption of the spiritual energy. However, after a while, he noticed something alarming: the amount of spiritual energy within him was decreasing rather than increasing.
“What’s going on?” A chill ran down Tang Jie’s spine as he looked puzzled at various parts of his body, realizing that there were no signs of the spiritual energy leaking out.
So where had the spiritual energy gone?
Tang Jie slowly closed his eyes and began to investigate the state of his body.
As his divine sense moved within him, he first observed his meridians. Occasionally, he could still see the heaven and earth spiritual energy slowly moving through them, but suddenly, the energy that had been flowing appeared to be devoured by something, disappearing in an instant.
“What is happening?” The more he observed, the more anxious Tang Jie became. His divine sense continued its search until it reached his dantian, where he found the same situation as before: the spiritual energy was inexplicably vanishing.
Inside the dantian, there was hardly any heaven and earth spiritual energy left, as if all of it had truly dissipated into thin air. Had it really left Tang Jie’s body entirely? He was baffled.
Suddenly, Tang Jie’s heart raced again as he noticed that, at some point, a large, viscous mass had appeared in his dantian, and the surrounding heaven and earth spiritual energy was continuously flowing into that mass.
As it came into contact with this viscous substance, the spiritual energy naturally disappeared, leaving Tang Jie clueless as to its fate.
After pondering for a moment, Tang Jie struggled to find an explanation for the phenomenon based on his knowledge, but he felt as if he were completely at a loss.
Not bothering with it any longer, he slowly stood up and began to operate the heaven and earth spiritual energy within him frantically.
This operation caused more confusion for Tang Jie, as he discovered that he could still use the spiritual energy, and its quality was significantly higher than before.
At this point, Tang Jie finally realized what was happening. He directed his divine sense back into his dantian and noticed that each time heaven and earth spiritual energy vanished, the viscous mass increased slightly.
“Is this… a precursor to entering the Heaven-Man Realm?”
Tang Jie’s heart soared with joy, and he began to dance around, unsure of what to do with his excitement. His eyes gleamed as he looked around, filled with exhilaration.
“What’s wrong with you?” Wang Qianya, who had been focused on her cultivation, quickly opened her eyes and asked when she heard the commotion from Tang Jie.
Hearing her voice, Tang Jie immediately turned his attention to her and said, “I can’t thank you enough. Really, thank you so much.”
“What’s going on? Are you sick or something?”
“Well, it’s like this: while I was helping you with the guidance, I ended up having a breakthrough myself,” Tang Jie replied helplessly.
“You had a breakthrough? From Innate to Heaven-Man?”
“Yeah,” Tang Jie nodded seriously. In truth, he hadn’t fully reached the Heaven-Man Realm yet; he was simply on the verge of it.
Having completed the task of guiding Wang Qianya in sensing the heaven and earth spiritual energy, there was nothing more for Tang Jie to do. Feeling a bit bored, he decided to leave Wang Qianya’s room. He found himself both thirsty for and intimidated by the enchanting figure before him. After some hesitation, he firmly decided to leave her apartment.
Facing the night breeze, Tang Jie quickly made his way to Chen’s villa.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a familiar voice shouted from behind him, “Hey, stop right there! I’m talking to you!”
Confused, Tang Jie turned his head slightly and saw someone approaching. The face seemed familiar, but he couldn’t quite place it.
“Ha! Tang Jie, right? You’ve forgotten me so soon?” The person walked closer, finally revealing himself to Tang Jie.
Tang Jie instantly felt the ancient martial arts qi radiating from the young man, and it was at the Acquired Peak level. He frowned deeply, looking at the approaching youth with a mix of wariness and irritation.
“You’re that bastard?” Tang Jie replied curtly.
“Hey, you dare to insult me when your life is on the line? Brothers, get him!” With a shout from the young man, several figures emerged from the shadows, all grinning as they surrounded Tang Jie.
“Oh, now I remember you! You’re the son of that director, right? I heard your dad’s out of power. Why are you still so arrogant?” Tang Jie said, his expression turning amused.
“Hmph! My dad lost his position because of that vile woman. Once I’m done with you, I’m going to find her.”
“I don’t think you’ll have the chance to do that.” Tang Jie smirked back, feeling a surge of confidence despite the situation.
