Demonic King of the Metropolis - Chapter 51 - Fierce Battle Part 1
Without further hesitation, Tang Jie jumped up and dashed outside, following the direction of the energy fluctuation. After absorbing a trace of heaven and earth spiritual energy, Tang Jie was already undergoing a significant transformation. His running speed had unconsciously increased.
At that moment, the sky was just turning dark, and the shadows of the trees danced around him, with dim yellow streetlights visible in the distance through the branches.
Downstairs, Tang Jie leaped down from the building. Upon landing smoothly, he executed a perfect roll, turning his body sideways to reduce the impact, and then he quickened his pace again.
In an instant, Tang Jie had already covered over a hundred meters. Within mere seconds, he could sense the approaching aura of the energy fluctuation ahead.
“Bang bang bang.” The sounds arrived simultaneously. Tang Jie frowned, glancing at the distant tree shadows. He accelerated, dodging through the bushes, and soon spotted Wang Qianya and three black-clad men in a desolate area.
Instantly, Tang Jie’s frown deepened. The strength of the three black-clad men was clearly formidable, and Wang Qianya appeared to be struggling against their combined attacks. Seeing this, Tang Jie no longer hesitated; he dashed over to Wang Qianya’s side in the blink of an eye.
“Hey, what’s wrong with you three big men picking on a weak woman? Have you no shame?” As Tang Jie appeared, his voice also resonated immediately.
The three black-clad men turned to look at Tang Jie upon hearing his voice, but by then, he was already right next to Wang Qianya.
“Huh? Why are you here?” Wang Qianya stared intently at the black-clad men and curiously spoke to Tang Jie.
“A beauty is in trouble; how can I, sitting next to her, not help?” Tang Jie chuckled, leaning his back against Wang Qianya’s, ready to fight side by side.
Understanding his intentions, Wang Qianya leaned back against him as well, and they both felt each other’s strength, providing a bit more reassurance.
“Young man, this is an internal matter of our family. I advise you not to meddle in it.” A hoarse voice emerged from one of the black-clad men, resembling the lament of a person moments away from death.
Hearing this made Tang Jie furrow his brows tightly, and a hint of fear flickered in his eyes as he looked at the black-clad men.
“Haha, are you on your way to hell, old man? You’re not a young one anymore. What are you doing out here at this hour? Scaring people?” Tang Jie laughed, and upon hearing this, one of the black-clad men became enraged.
“You’re seeking death!” the black-clad man shouted, instantly rushing right in front of Tang Jie.
“Clang!” A piercing metal sound echoed through the night, prompting the other two black-clad men who had surrounded Tang Jie and Wang Qianya to swiftly charge toward them.
Tang Jie glared coldly at the black-clad man before him, swiftly swinging the sword in his hand. Since absorbing the heaven and earth spiritual energy, the strength throughout Tang Jie’s body had been increasing, including his sword-swinging speed.
“Clang… clang…” He struck six times in quick succession. Although each blow was expertly blocked by the black-clad man, Tang Jie could clearly sense that it was becoming increasingly difficult for him.
The black-clad man managed to block Tang Jie’s six strikes with great effort, retreating to a distance while looking at Tang Jie in astonishment. “Who on earth are you? Which master did you learn from?”
“Old freak, why would I tell you? Enough of your nonsense-take this!” Tang Jie shouted angrily and quickly charged forward with his sword, engaging the black-clad man once again in combat.
Now, the situation had changed: Wang Qianya faced two black-clad men alone, while Tang Jie took on one. They no longer fought side by side as there was no longer any threat from behind.
Tang Jie let out a fierce roar and charged at the black-clad man. After a few exchanges, the black-clad man turned and fled in a panic. However, his speed was no match for Tang Jie’s. In just a few strides, Tang Jie caught up and struck proudly with his sword, plunging it into the black-clad man’s body.
“Ah!” The black-clad man let out a furious howl, and the sound immediately attracted the attention of the other two black-clad men. Seeing the situation, the two black-clad men locked in combat with Wang Qianya decided they could no longer afford to fight and quickly rushed to Tang Jie’s side.
Just as Tang Jie was about to sink his sword into the black-clad man’s head, another black-clad man skillfully intercepted the attack with his own sword, looking at Tang Jie with a hint of astonishment.
“What the hell is wrong with you? Who taught you to kill like that?” the black-clad man roared as he dragged his injured companion to the side.
Tang Jie snorted coldly and licked the blood off his blade. “So we’re in a life-and-death struggle, and you think you can dictate where I should kill you? Don’t make me laugh.”
“Hmph, where did you learn such a vicious cultivation method?” The black-clad man dropped his injured companion and shouted.
“Shut up! I hate when people speak ill of my master!” Tang Jie shot back angrily. Swinging his sword, he suddenly darted forward, closing the distance between him and the black-clad man in an instant. Their blades clashed mid-air, and they froze in that moment.
Both of them stood firm, maintaining the stance from the clash, until half a second later, the black-clad man’s sword clattered to the ground, landing on the stones with a loud thud.
As he looked at his sword with confusion, he realized that it had broken without him noticing, and the piece that had just fallen to the ground was only a fragment of the blade.
The black-clad man swayed for a moment before suddenly collapsing, as if struck in half. He began to misalign, and after one or two seconds, blood sprayed wildly from his waist.
“Bang.” With a heavy thud, the upper half of the black-clad man’s body finally fell to the ground, while his lower half remained standing, wobbling precariously.
“No…” The other black-clad man, previously injured by Tang Jie, shouted desperately. Ignoring his own wounds, he scrambled to his feet and rushed towards Tang Jie.
Tang Jie glanced at the approaching black-clad man, a dangerous glint in his eyes. He didn’t pay attention to the man’s actions but quickly moved to Wang Qianya’s side, reasoning that the injured man wouldn’t get far.
Instead, he needed to be wary of the black-clad man who was still evenly matched with Wang Qianya. He stepped closer to her and said, “Let’s attack together.”
“Alright,” Wang Qianya replied earnestly.
