Demonic King of the Metropolis - Chapter 49 - The Black Iron Piece Part 2
Tang Jie got out of the car, and the scene before him left him utterly stunned. It was a sea of people, one after another as far as the eye could see, with various amusement rides turning ceaselessly in the sky like giant wheels.
In fact, this was Tang Jie’s first visit to such a place. Even as an ancient martial arts master, he couldn’t help but be moved by the scene before him.
“Shall we go?” Chen Shuran and Xiao Ran curiously looked at Tang Jie, whose face was marked by surprise, and then gestured towards the distance.
With a helpless shrug, Tang Jie slowly followed the two women. He didn’t inquire further about why Chen Shuran had invited him here today.
It was Tang Jie’s first time at an amusement park, but naturally, these things could hardly pique his interest. However, to avoid disappointing the two women, he painfully tried every ride with them.
Over the course of four hours, their excitement only grew, and even Tang Jie began to enthusiastically participate.
“Hey, are you guys scared?” Tang Jie teased.
“Scared? As if! I think you’re the one who’s going to wet his pants later,” Xiao Ran mocked back.
With a roaring sound, the windmill began spinning rapidly, and gusts of wind howled past, fiercely blowing around Tang Jie’s ears.
“What’s the big deal? I can run faster than this…” Tang Jie said unimpressed, letting his body whirl and invert on the windmill.
The situation was different for the two women; they clung to each other in fright, screaming continuously and even grabbing at Tang Jie’s back, who was sitting in front of them.
Feeling a tickling sensation on his back, Tang Jie turned around, curiously looking at the two women as he exclaimed, “Hey, I thought you weren’t scared? Ha ha…”
Unable to respond to Tang Jie’s words, the women continued to hold onto each other until the ride came to a stop. Only then did their faces regain their previous excitement.
“Wow, that was so thrilling! Let’s go again,” Xiao Ran exclaimed excitedly, pulling on Chen Shuran’s hand. Her chest heaved up and down with excitement.
Tang Jie couldn’t help but drool, his eyes glued to the scene.
Chen Shuran quickly tapped Xiao Ran, then stared at Tang Jie and accused, “Pervert, what were you just looking at?”
“Uh, I wasn’t really looking at anything. I was just wondering why Xiao Ran was so happy,” Tang Jie replied helplessly, scratching his head.
“Hmph, you’re lying. Come on, Xiao Ran, let’s ignore him. This guy is definitely a pervert,” Chen Shuran said, pulling Xiao Ran away, leaving Tang Jie standing alone, spreading his hands helplessly.
“Would you like your fortune told?” As Tang Jie was speechless, an elderly voice emerged beside him.
Upon hearing this, Tang Jie curiously turned around. He scrutinized the fortune teller before him, then shifted his gaze towards the direction where Chen Shuran and her friends had gone, only turning back after confirming their path.
“Ha, a street charlatan. What fortune could you possibly tell me?”
“Sir, before you rush to call me a swindler, extend your hand and I’ll know everything.”
“Really?” Tang Jie, skeptical, extended his hand. The blind fortune teller immediately started to fiddle with Tang Jie’s hand.
Tang Jie had never believed in fortune telling; he only believed in himself. He believed that he was the master of his own fate, so he was quite dismissive and somewhat disgusted by such practices.
After a while, the blind man let go of Tang Jie’s hand.
“Sir, are you an ancient martial artist?” the blind man asked bluntly.
This statement made Tang Jie’s eyebrows furrow, and he looked at the blind man with renewed curiosity.
“You’re quite a good guesser. I suppose you were an ancient martial artist before you lost your sight,” Tang Jie said, not hiding his irritation.
The blind man did not respond to Tang Jie’s comment but continued on his own: “Sir, you are no ordinary martial artist. Looking at your palm, you must be young and promising.”
“Nonsense, you can tell my age by my voice, and by feeling my hand, you should guess my strength. Stop putting on a show in front of me, you charlatan.” Tang Jie had little patience for these clichés, having encountered countless frauds in his time.
The blind man stroked his unkempt beard and said calmly, “Sir, you are too impatient. You must have already felt the heaven and earth spiritual energy.”
Upon hearing this, Tang Jie was immediately surprised and looked at the blind man with a hint of curiosity.
“Uh, were you once an innate master too? And you know about the heaven and earth spiritual energy?”
The blind man shook his head and continued, “Sir, please don’t guess wildly about my identity. I know you have already felt the heaven and earth spiritual energy, but because you are impatient and restless, it has swiftly passed by you.”
“So what if it has?” Tang Jie responded irritably.
The blind man didn’t reply but instead pulled out a tattered iron piece from his clothing. Tang Jie, with his keen eyes, felt a sense of relief the moment the iron piece appeared, and from then on, he began to slowly believe what the blind man was saying.
“Sir, we are fated to meet today. Your character is just like mine was back in the day. However, it is destined that this iron piece will lead us into the Innate Realm. Take care of yourself,” said the blind man, accurately tossing the iron piece in front of Tang Jie.
As soon as Tang Jie caught the iron piece, he immediately felt an unusual aura, as if the piece was imbued with a strong heaven and earth spiritual energy.
In the blink of an eye, the blind man disappeared into the crowd. Tang Jie called out urgently, “Senior, wait, please wait, Senior!”
After a frantic chase, Tang Jie barely caught up to the blind man, grabbing his hand and saying, “Senior, I apologize for any offense earlier.”
“No, young man, I was your age once, and if a young man doesn’t show some spirit, I wouldn’t like it much,” the blind man said with a smile.
Feeling ashamed, Tang Jie fumbled around in his clothing and pulled out a bank card, then hurriedly handed it to the blind man, saying, “A small token of my appreciation, Senior, please accept it.”
“What’s this?” the blind man asked curiously as he felt the bank card in his hand, unable to guess what it was despite his ability to foresee human fate.
Tang Jie chuckled and said, “Senior, it’s a token of my gratitude. There’s not much money in it, but it should be enough for you to buy some drinks.”
“Ha ha, is this a bank card? I’ve never used one before,” the blind man said heartily, stuffing the card into his coat pocket. “Young man, I’ll remember you. If fate allows, we will meet again. I’ll accept this bank card.”
“Wait, I haven’t told you the… password yet!” Tang Jie said helplessly, but by the time he looked up, the blind man was already nowhere to be seen.
