Demonic King of the Metropolis - Chapter 3 - The Curvy Silhouette
From Chen Shuran’s eyes, Tang Jie could see the disdain and distrust she felt towards him. Despite not saying anything, he maintained a playful smile and said to her, “Let’s go, young miss.”
“Get lost! Who needs your protection?” Chen Shuran said contemptuously once again. Ignoring Tang Jie, she walked towards the bus stop with Xiao Ran beside her.
It seemed her father was really getting senile. How could he have hired such a gigolo to be her bodyguard? He must have some ulterior motive, probably trying to swindle them out of money.
Watching Chen Shuran leave, Tang Jie remained silent, staring at her retreating figure as he pondered for a moment before quietly following her.
What a challenging girl, but he liked that!
Tang Jie followed Chen Shuran all the way, staying hidden enough not to be noticed until he saw her return to the Chen family villa. Only then did Tang Jie grab a cab back to his apartment.
As night fell, Tang Jie had a simple dinner, changed his clothes, checked the time, and left the apartment to hail a cab straight to Passion Bar. After a twenty-minute ride, the car slowly came to a stop in front of Passion Bar. Since Uncle Zhao said Chen Shuran would be there, he might as well meet her there.
After paying and getting out of the cab, Tang Jie walked straight into the bar, the deafening music hitting his ears as he entered.
“There are… so many beauties here,” Tang Jie was bewildered. He randomly picked a seat, and his gaze immediately fixed on a seductive girl twisting her waist in the dance floor.
Numerous charms swayed before Tang Jie’s eyes, leaving him dazzled. Even when the waiter shouted a few times in his ear, it went unheard.
“Sir…”
The waiter took a deep breath and shouted again into Tang Jie’s ear.
“Oh… get me a beer.” Tang Jie said to the waiter while massaging his earlobe.
Once the waiter left, Tang Jie refocused his gaze on the girls in the dance floor, making clicking sounds as he commented on their figures.
“That one’s got a nice voluptuous backside… not bad, not bad.”
“That one’s good too, just lacking up top…”
“My god, even a flat-chested princess had the nerve to flaunt herself…”
Tang Jie relaxed in his seat, sipping his beer, and freely critiqued the array of beautifully dressed women in the dance floor.
Thankfully, the music in the bar was overwhelmingly loud, or else if those women heard Tang Jie’s comments, he might have faced a group assault.
About half an hour later, a bored Tang Jie suddenly noticed a familiar figure. A woman in a camisole and hot pants appeared before him – it was the very same Chen Shuran, the young miss who had taunted him at the school gate in the afternoon. However, she had shed her school uniform and was now dressed incredibly sexy and glamorous.
“Who would’ve thought she’s also a fiery beauty. Tsk tsk!” Tang Jie thought to himself as he discreetly observed Chen Shuran, amazed at the stark contrast between her daytime appearance and her current one.
As soon as the fiery aura exuding Chen Shuran stepped into the bar, she was immediately surrounded by a group of uniquely dressed young men and women.
“Shuran-Jie, you’re here!”
“Shuran-Jie, why are you so late tonight?”
The people swarming around the woman in a camisole bombarded her with questions.
Faced with their inquiries, Chen Shuran furrowed her brows slightly before impatiently waving her hand, saying, “Stop bothering me. I want some peace and quiet tonight.” With that, she disregarded their reactions, pushed through the crowd, and walked toward where Tang Jie was seated, her icy and proud demeanor from earlier in the day unchanged.
Tang Jie watched as the cold-faced Chen Shuran sat alone at the bar counter after the crowd dispersed. She ordered a few bottles of beer and began drinking by herself.
Those who had been flattering Chen Shuran noticed her displeased expression and wisely kept their distance.
Inside the bar, red and green neon lights flickered. A burst of red light shone on Chen Shuran, complementing her explosive figure and devilish face, making her look particularly enchanting.
At this moment, with a blank face, Chen Shuran drank her beer as if she was in her own world, seemingly disconnected from the bustling and lively world around her, like a celestial being who had no ties to the earthly realm. She didn’t notice the pair of smiling eyes watching her closely from nearby.
Tang Jie’s gaze lingered on Chen Shuran, her frosty demeanor sparking his curiosity. However, he quickly reminded himself that his assignment was only for three months, and once that time was up, he’d have no further connection with this cold beauty. He also recalled her lack of trust and disdain at the school gate earlier that day, and a roguish smile crept onto his lips. Did she think he was just a gigolo? He was sure it wouldn’t be long before she changed her mind.
Thinking this, Tang Jie continued to sit quietly, drinking his beer and enjoying the sight of the spicy, glamorous beauties around him.
“Hey, beautiful, can I buy you a drink?”
Tang Jie had just shifted his gaze away from Chen Shuran when a young man, about twenty-two with dyed red hair, approached her, holding a glass of beer. His eyes roamed over Chen Shuran with a mix of suggestiveness and desire.
“Hmm?”
After a moment, seeing that the woman in the camisole and hot pants didn’t acknowledge him, the red-haired man’s face showed a hint of irritation. He then said in a deep voice, “Hey, beauty, I’m Zhu Nan. Can we be friends?”
Hearing this, Chen Shuran slowly looked up at the red-haired man and said, “Get lost!”
“You…”
Zhu Nan’s father was the deputy director of the police station in G City. With his connections, people usually treated him with the utmost respect, eager to curry favor with him.
Though the bar was filled with many alluring women, none had caught Zhu Nan’s interest until he saw Chen Shuran’s exceptional beauty. He felt an overpowering urge to make her his.
But now, faced with Chen Shuran’s cool indifference and outright dismissal, Zhu Nan felt utterly embarrassed. Unaccustomed to such treatment, Zhu Nan usually would have exploded in anger, but he held back this time.
“If you don’t have any business, can you leave? You’re in my way.” With that, Chen Shuran turned away without sparing Zhu Nan another glance, lowering her head to continue drinking.
