Demonic King of the Metropolis - Chapter 25 - Deadly Moves
“Wang Shiwen, we all went to school together. Why push things to such extremes?” Tang Jie asked slowly, stretching his muscles after freeing his hands from the duct tape.
“Tang Jie, you’re just a poor loser, unworthy of being my classmate. Dare to covet the woman I have my eyes on, and you’ll meet a very miserable end!” Wang Shiwen laughed, unconcerned that Tang Jie had freed himself so easily from the tape binding his hands.
“Crazy!” Tang Jie shook his head, saying nothing more. It was only then that he realized city life wasn’t as simple as he had once imagined.
Here, the enemies weren’t as formidable as those he faced on missions, but the saying “enough ants can bite an elephant to death” held some truth.
If he didn’t teach Wang Shiwen a profound lesson, he could expect endless trouble in the future!
“Brothers, come out!” At that moment, Pao Zi whistled sharply, and a piercing sound echoed.
Suddenly, twenty or thirty hoodlums wielding machetes appeared from all around, closing in on Tang Jie.
As Tang Jie watched these brazen gangsters carrying machetes in broad daylight, his resolve to teach Wang Shiwen a lesson only grew stronger.
Unfazed by the twenty or so machete-wielding thugs, Tang Jie’s expression did not escape Hu-Ge’s notice.
“Get him! But don’t kill him. Just take out one of his legs.” Despite this, Hu-Ge ordered the armed thugs to attack.
After all, he had accepted Wang Shiwen’s half a million and promised to cripple one of Tang Jie’s legs.
Based on Pao Zi’s information, not even eight or nine people could get close to Tang Jie, so Pao-Ge increased the number to over twenty, all armed.
Hu-Ge was confident that even he couldn’t walk away unscathed from twenty machete-wielding thugs, so when it came time for him to act, it would surely be a piece of cake.
“You’re ganging up on me with so many people, using weapons too? How shameless.” Tang Jie cursed under his breath, then lunged toward the twenty-plus hoodlums.
“Huh…”
“What is he doing?”
“Am I seeing things? Is he charging into the crowd?”
“Is he insane? Does he want to die?”
Seeing Tang Jie curse and charge towards the menacing crowd brandishing machetes rather than retreating, the three who had initially abducted him, along with the hoodlums watching from the sidelines, were all stunned.
Among those shocked was Wang Shiwen. After regaining his composure, he smirked and muttered, “Fool who doesn’t know his own limits!”
To others, Tang Jie indeed seemed reckless, deliberately running towards more than twenty machete-wielding hoodlums ready to attack him. If this wasn’t foolish, what was?
Upon charging into the crowd, Tang Jie didn’t stop for a moment. He swiftly disarmed one of the hoodlums of his machete and kicked him away.
That hoodlum flew back like an arrow, spitting blood from his mouth.
“Surround him, brothers!”
Though one hoodlum was down, the rest of the twenty-odd hoodlums didn’t care. In fact, they seemed excited to see Tang Jie rush in!
“Brothers, capture him! Boss said there’s a ten thousand yuan1 reward for catching him!”
A voice suddenly rang out from the crowd, and the mention of the reward was enough to ignite the frenzy of the underlings.
In their minds, capturing Tang Jie was a simple task. Their looks at Tang Jie were as if they were eyeing a beauty stripped bare.
“Get him!”
Awakened from their pause, the hoodlums surged towards Tang Jie, eager to claim the ten thousand before it slipped away.
Facing the money-crazed hoodlums, Tang Jie showed no mercy. He swung his machete furiously, the clash of metal ringing out.
“Clang…”
One hoodlum’s machete was knocked out of his hands by Tang Jie with the weapon he had just seized, and before he could react, Tang Jie knocked him out cold with a karate chop.
Tang Jie had no major grudge against them, so he didn’t see the need to be lethal.
Quickly, the hoodlums surrounding Tang Jie started to fall one after another, yet those further out couldn’t see what was happening, continuing to rush inward.
Five minutes later, Hu-Ge, who stood on the periphery, began to sense something was wrong. Why was it taking so long for over twenty hoodlums to subdue one person?
“Thud…”
A dull thud resounded as Tang Jie stepped on a hoodlum’s shoulder and leaped up, jumping out of the circle. Once free, he dusted off his shoulders.
Now, of the original twenty-plus machete-wielding hoodlums, fewer than ten remained standing; the rest lay unconscious on the ground.
In contrast, Tang Jie had only a bit of dirt on his clothes but was otherwise unharmed.
“They were too weak!” Tang Jie shrugged and remarked.
“You…” Hu-Ge was surprised at this scene. His expression changed as he said grimly, “It seems you’re indeed skilled. A mob attack doesn’t work on you!”
Tang Jie ignored Hu-Ge and walked straight towards Wang Shiwen, a slight smirk of disdain on his face. “I never intended to oppose you, but you’ve tried to harm me repeatedly and even wanted to cripple a leg. If I don’t teach you a lesson, you’ll just think you can bully me, won’t you!”
Seeing that the mob tactic was useless against Tang Jie and watching him approach unscathed, Wang Shiwen stepped back a couple of steps and shouted, “Hu-Ge, I’ll add two hundred thousand more! Take this guy down for me.”
Upon hearing this, Hu-Ge stepped forward, blocking Tang Jie’s path and shielding Wang Shiwen behind him, commanding, “Stop!”
Yet Tang Jie paid no heed to Hu-Ge’s order and continued walking toward Wang Shiwen.
“I told you to stop!” Hu-Ge was furious. Since becoming a boss, few dared to defy him. Seeing Tang Jie’s disregard, he roared and charged at Tang Jie.
With one hand forming a palm, he struck at Tang Jie. Hu-Ge didn’t expect this move to subdue Tang Jie.
Sure enough, Tang Jie easily dodged Hu-Ge’s attack, but Hu-Ge had already thought of his next move.
His hand shifted into a claw, deploying a grappling technique he learned in the military.
