“Don’t play dumb with me, there’s a way to heaven but you refuse it, and you throw yourself into hell without a door. Now that I’ve caught you today, don’t think you can leave without a scratch!” Fat Zhou said, waving his hand to signal the hoodlums surrounding Tang Jie to rush at him.
“Go, beat him up hard. I’ll take responsibility if anything happens!”
Fat Zhou said confidently, thinking that with Young Master Wang backing him, even if he broke Tang Jie’s leg, nothing would happen to him!
With Wang Shiwen backing him, Fat Zhou appeared fearless, and the surrounding hoodlums, seeing Fat Zhou give the order, hesitated no more. They grabbed bricks from the ground and ran towards Tang Jie.
“Beat him up hard, let him see some blood, or he won’t know how tough we are!”
One of the hoodlums picked up a brick and shouted as he charged at Tang Jie.
The other hoodlums didn’t hesitate either; they picked up their weapons and charged from all directions.
Fat Zhou stood by watching with a cold smile and did not step in to help. In his view, the fact that Tang Jie managed to knock him down several times yesterday was pure luck.
At the moment, they had the advantage of numbers. Even if Tang Jie was good at fighting, taking on one or two at a time, it was impossible for him to handle four or five people wielding bricks at once.
However, in the next moment, Fat Zhou was shocked to see Tang Jie skillfully dodging attacks with agility among those holding bricks.
“This… how is it possible?” Fat Zhou rubbed his eyes in disbelief, muttering to himself.
After all, Fat Zhou was just a student, with knowledge limited to the school environment. In his understanding, apart from martial arts masters in TV shows or specially trained soldiers, it was impossible for an ordinary person to fight so many people alone.
Moreover, his group was armed, albeit with bricks. Normally, people would’ve just accepted they were about to get beaten when faced with this scenario.
“Could it be… yesterday, he didn’t win by luck?” Thinking of this, Fat Zhou involuntarily stepped back a few paces.
Fat Zhou’s muttering was clearly heard by Tang Jie, but at this moment, he didn’t have the time to pay attention to Fat Zhou.
Dodging an incoming brick, Tang Jie smirked and said, “You’ve had your fun, now it’s my turn!”
Without giving the hoodlum who missed a chance to react, he lifted his foot and kicked the student in the stomach. The student cried out in pain, dropped the brick, and fell to the ground clutching his stomach in agony.
After easily dealing with one student, Tang Jie quickly targeted another, launching himself at them. The hoodlums were no match for Tang Jie, who had undergone over a decade of life-and-death training; dealing with them was child’s play for him.
Soon, he had the remaining four hoodlums on the ground as well. Tang Jie was precise in his attacks, incapacitating them without causing any serious harm.
Finishing up with the students, Tang Jie grabbed his black shoulder bag from the ground and looked at Fat Zhou not far away with a wicked smile.
However, Fat Zhou had already prepared to flee. As expected, upon seeing Tang Jie swiftly handle the students he brought, he turned and ran.
Before leaving, he shouted, “You just wait, this isn’t over!” By the time he finished his sentence, he was already two hundred meters away.
Despite being overweight, Fat Zhou ran surprisingly fast, not much slower than someone trained!
“Not much of a fight!” Seeing Fat Zhou flee, Tang Jie didn’t bother to chase him. After glancing at the hoodlums rolling on the ground, he turned and left.
The director of the Academic Office at No. 2 High School was a middle-aged man in his early forties who had already been informed about a new student arriving today.
When he saw Tang Jie enter with his black shoulder bag, he stood up from his soft office chair and greeted him warmly, “You must be Tang Jie, Mr. Tang!”
Tang Jie nodded and said, “Director, I’m here to report.”
“Good, welcome to No. 2 High School. I’ll take you to your class now,” the director said as he led the way out.
Tang Jie remained silent and followed, neither saying much as they walked one after the other.
On the way, the middle-aged director slowed down his pace, his eyes glinting as he smiled and said, “Mr. Tang, if you ever need anything at school, feel free to let me know. I’ll do my best to help you.”
Tang Jie was taken aback by this comment. He didn’t understand why the director of the Academic Office at No. 2 High School was offering him such support.
Seeing that Tang Jie didn’t respond, the director continued, “Yesterday, I received a message from Mr. Chen asking me to take good care of you while you’re at school. My surname is Tian, and you can call me Uncle Tian.”
Now Tang Jie understood. It seemed that Director Tian was being accommodating because of Chen Jiankai.
Seeing the ingratiating smile in Director Tian’s sharp eyes, Tang Jie quickly realized that Director Tian was trying to use him as an indirect way to curry favor with Chen Jiankai.
“Alright then, I’ll be counting on you, Uncle Tian,” Tang Jie nodded, playing along with Director Tian’s intent.
Director Tian was overjoyed by Tang Jie’s understanding response. Although he wasn’t sure of the exact relationship between Tang Jie and Chen Jiankai, he had sensed something unusual when Uncle Zhao, Chen Jiankai’s house manager, personally called him yesterday to ask that he accommodate Tang Jie.
Tang Jie was also aware that Uncle Zhao, while publicly known as the Chen family’s house manager, was actually Chen Jiankai’s personal bodyguard.
The two continued in silence until they reached the door of a classroom. Stepping inside, Director Tian cleared his throat and went up to the podium, saying, “Class, I’d like to introduce a new transfer student. This is Tang Jie-Mr. Tang. He will be joining your class. I hope you all will get along well and treat your new classmate nicely.”
After speaking, Director Tian looked at Tang Jie, who took the cue, stepped up to the podium, and said, “Hello everyone, I’m Tang Jie.”
“This is Jin Yan, Ms. Jin, your class teacher,” Director Tian said, pointing to a woman in her mid-twenties wearing a white professional outfit and gold-rimmed glasses.
“Hello, Ms. Jin,” Tang Jie said, looking over at her. He couldn’t help but think to himself, “She’s beautiful.”
