Chapter 20

This plot is just too classic; I can’t even bring myself to laugh anymore. I look straight at Linghua.

Linghua meets my gaze and immediately lowers his head guiltily.

This fool, how could Gu Haochen possibly choose him? I’m the one with One Hundred Billion hanging on me.

Sure enough, Gu Haochen hesitates and looks at Linghua.

He speaks: “Linghua, how about you…”

Afraid he’d say something stupid, I get up and shove aside the driver standing behind Gu Haochen.

I shout, “There are only two of them! Hurry…”

Gu Haochen snaps out of it and immediately turns to snatch the knife from the driver’s hand.

The two quickly grapple, and the knife falls to the ground.

I pick up the knife from the floor and cut the rope binding me. Meanwhile, Gu Haochen pins the driver to the ground and lands a heavy punch on his face.

Not far away, the bodyguard raises his gun at Gu Haochen. I shout “Watch out!” and tackle Gu Haochen just as the gun goes off.

The bullet hits my arm, and blood spurts out.

Linghua screams in fright, “No!”

Gu Haochen sees I’m hurt and lifts me up in disbelief.

Linghua shouts, “What are you doing! This is just acting! How can you really shoot!”

The bodyguard and driver exchange a glance and say, “Sorry, Young Master Ling. Compared to two hundred thousand and two hundred million, it’s just not enough.”

Only then does Gu Haochen realize what’s going on, his face turning ashen as he looks at Linghua.

Linghua doesn’t dare say another word, sobbing as he lowers his head.
